Roy sent me some nice spalted wood, one guy sent me a small amount of exhibition grade walnut.

Post by: garyschuler on December 28, 2021, 10:35:57 AM: Some yes and some no. Depends ion spalting and Burl figure. I have built lots of all Myrtle bows. I’ve never stabilized it myself but have had a few riser blocks stabilized.

That bottom piece of Cocobolo looks like a piece I got one time called Mexican cocobolo. It was orange with black a really unique piece. Had no trouble selling the bow I made with it.
Cocobolo is my go to for risers. Just love it but haven't purchased in a good many years. Still have a piece I'm saving to build another personal bow once I decide what I want since I may never buy another block of it again
