Best way is in a 3 or 4 inch plastic pipe, but that depends on how much recurve the bow has.

But the shipping employees hate round tubes because the tubes roll off the conveyor belts,  so I put the pipe inside a rectangular shipping box also.

I've had bows damaged and even broken when shipping in cardboard boxes.

Make sure to get insurance on the package.

For what shipping cost now days go light as possible and short to.
The last LB I shipped had a lot of reflex. Had to make a box from plywood side strips and 1/4 on each side.

Pad the tips very well. I had a custom one piece I had ordered arrive with the tip overlay broken off. It had taken a bounce on the end of the tube and bow must have slid down inside. It was pretty well packed but still popped off.

I read about someone using plastic gutter downspouts for ASLs.  Might try it out.

My bow has too much reflex to go in a tube......

Build a box out of thin plywood or take your chances with cardboard then.

Take and wrap the bow with cling wrap, make a three sided box with cardboard and plastic sheetrock corners taped together. Put bow in box, center it and fill with cheap spray foam.

Some good ideas there.

I was talking about the rectangular gutter to ground downspouts.

I've used PVC down spouts many times with my Longbows. I've only had one that had cracked in the middle. The bow was fine. I cut a foamish rubber for the ends caps. Part of fits inside with a 3/8 cap. This way the reinforced tape doesn't cut it self on the PVC edge. JF
