Title: Montana Longbow arrow spine
Post by: raimiewmg on May 02, 2008, 11:12:00 AM
I am purchasing a 55lb @28" Left hand Bear Montana Longbow. But according to the draw length bow at Cabalas my draw is only 24" so do I need to purchase Arrows spined for 55lb or spined for 45lb to 50lb? Also what is a good starting weight broadhead for hunting Whitetail?

Thanks Everyone

3 rivers recommended 60-65 in their wood arrows to me, but that is drawing a full 28 inches with a 125 head. Might be a little stiff for your draw.

Rule of thumb is 3#/inch, so you're drawing that bow 43#. I think I would start with 40-45# shafts, at 28", and go from there. With the 125 grain point, you should be pretty close. You have a lot of room to trim the length of the arrow for perfect flight.

Good luck!
