I had about an hour before work this morning, so I decided to head to behind the Mississippi River levee to check on the water level and look for crappie, but what i found was some carp in some of the current along the side of one of the turn roads. The river is falling out and the water is flowing over the road in some spots and the carp, buffalo and gar everywhere.
I shot the these fish with my Bear Kodiak Magnum.
Joebuck, you might know where these came from....

I am headed back in the morning to try and get the big ones.........
Nice bighead carp! I've shot several, but none anywhere near that size.
Those are HUGE! Did you weigh them? I'll bet they will go well over 100lbs(all three, not each).
How ya gonna cook 'em? :D
wow those are some massive fish well done!!
Very nice! Guess we know where you will be on your off time. :bigsmyl:
Wow, those are monsters! Good job! :D
Some good looking fertilizer there
WOW those are huge, well done  :clapper:
Wear their **S out Chris! Big Fish!!! Big time in the Delta.. Those big fish will feed some Democrats!!!!!These Bighead Carp are ruining the MS and Illinios River system. I'm going this weekend. River is down and we can get to camp.
Return there at night with a spotlight or boat with lights and see what you encounter.
I bet that was fun. Nice fish!
HOLY CRAP!!! :scared: THOSE ARE HUGE
Awesome! keep at it those things are ruining the river system over there.
Good pic, :clapper:
Well done.
Many things you can do with trash fish; dog/cat food, eat them yourself, fertilizer, etc. Great job on some big fish!
Wow!!
Thanks for sharing
Do those have the same bone structure as regular carp, and are they any good to eat? Too bad crappie don't get that big.
If crappie got that big, the river would be a VERY dangerous place. Nice Fish!
Nice ones!! Sounds like they are a real pest!!
Great fish, looks like they weigh close to 50lbs each + or - a few lbs. Biggest I ever shot were 15 lbs. Those were trapped in ditches and holes created after the floods in the early 90's. I have heard they will get as big as 100 lbs.
I didnt get a chance to put them on the some scales, but did measure length on the two biggest ones. 48" and 46 1/2" maybe somebody will know about how much the fish weighed with the lengths.
Concordia? Merigold? Donaldson? Catfish?
Dang...that's some monster fish!
Ward Lake and Bland's Bayou entrance
Dam!!! right under my nose 1/2 mile...I bet crumptons bermuda grass farm had some rough fish rolling when the water started moving back....we're dry as a bone now well almost
