Hey Y’all. Newbie here. I’m trying to get started and I picked up a really nice Predator Hunter bow for 50$. Trouble is it’s 60# at 28”. I can’t shoot it. I know they are out of business but can I still find lighter limbs for it? Will a different brand limb work? Thanks I’m advance.

A different brand limb will not work. I own a Predator Hunter DX. It is a very well made bow for the price Hunters Niche once made this bow.
A few weeks ago I was looking online for some lighter weight limbs myself. The only places I could find to buy new limbs for this bow was on archery product websites in France and Germany. And the price for limbs on these websites were pretty pricey, $350-500 in US dollars.
I could find no US archery product websites that had limbs or even the entire bow for sale.
If you are very patient, you could likely find some used limbs for sale here, on stickbow dot com classifieds or the mega big auction website . But mu guess is you will be paying at least $150 for a set of limbs.
Good luck.

Thank you. I ran into that same brick wall with it.

X2 Alexander
2bears could also do a reduction of 5lbs or so.
-
Wow! When did they go under?
-
I’d definitely be interested in having a weight reduction done on the limbs. How do I contact 2bears ?

You can find some Predator limbs available from, Merlin archery products Loughborough England.
They have a few left?

They are great bows, but I would recommend selling it because you can get a considerable profit and buy a lighter weight bow. Limbs are scarce and pricey. The ones I have found were as mentioned earlier are in the UK. I was looking for some 40 lb limbs for my son recently.

Charley, Ron Pittsley who was the owner/ builder of the Predator passed away in February 2018. His company, Hunter's Niche is now defunct. You have a valuable collector's bow which could bring you a nice profit which you could then use to purchase a bow of a lesser draw weight, which with your apparent good fortune you should be able to easily find. Otherwise, as an earlier respondant opined, hit the gym !!

Thank you for your comment, however you have me confused with another gentleman who has a Predator hunter bow.
I have a Predator Lobo Elite Hybrid, which I am more than pleased with, and just wanted to know the brace height.
The bow weight of my bow is just fine thank you, so thankfully I don't need the gym.

Caranthir,
Sorry your post came direct to my computer and I thought it was for me.
Now I see it was for Charles, my apologies :bigsmyl:

No problem, sorry for the confusion.

UncasUK, about your brace height try somewhere between 7 1/4 and 7 3/4 inches should find the sweet spot somewhere within that range.

About the most they could take off would be 5 or 6 lbs...maybe more.
I would list a trade in classifieds..lot of those out there.
Great bows. Ron Pittsley was a great bowyer and a gentleman
