Brazilian Ebony riser with Canarywood stripes and stained Bamboo limb cores. Gotta finish up the limb tips and final sand. Very pleased with how smooth it draws. I’ll post finished pics and a full draw pic when it’s done.

I used some Cane veneers one time, a little dark stain on the nodes, it came out nice.

Guess I should have included the term "Wood"

Gombiera Ebony. It darkens quickly over time.

Beautiful bow, I'm working on a 58" 1 piece too. I think that's a good size for hunting and all around use.
-
Very nice, clean looking shooter, JR!
One of my favorite style hunting bows!

:clapper: nice job!

I sprayed several coats on Saturday, wet sanded Sunday morning and applied several more coats. I must say, I’m pleasantly surprised at how nice this wood looks with finish. One more round of sanding and a couple coats to go.
-
You sprayed several coats of what kinda clear? JF
-
Right now I’m using Duplicolor Wheel Clearcoat. The final coats will be catalyzed matte 2K clear.

Have you done this way before? JF

Where are you located in Iowa Jeff? I’ve bowhunted Iowa since the 90’s.

We need plenty of pictures when you finish it.

Looks great 👍 JF

JGR, Is the duplicolor an enamel, epoxy or a urethane? JF

Pretty wood  Looks like figured Walnut.
You using SprayMax 2k for your top coats?

JGR, I'm just North of Davenport about 6miles. I hunt my wife's family farm by Maquoketa. JF

Last coats of matte went on last night.

Man that looks nice! I am still in the process of building my first. I will have to re-visit how you did the finishing work. It looks great.

That looks pretty sweet JGR. Really like that shooting machine. JF

Very nice. That string angle at full draw really is something, too. Bet it draws super smooth.
Is there an unbraced picture to show?

Thats a great looking bow! It's a really nice, clean design and those limbs look perfect

I built a 56” version off this form a year ago but this 58” model draws so much smoother. I’ll get a pic of it unstrung when I get a chance.
