Title: Gloves used during glue up?

I was wondering what kind of protective gloves you guys prefer for glue up?  I have historically used 8 mil nitrile gloves by gloveworx because I can usually get them on Amazon at 35 bucks for 50 pairs.  They tear easily, and I usually use at least 2 pairs for each glue up.  I can’t seem to find XXL anymore, and they’re pretty tight as they are.  I scored about 10 pairs of some thicker, roomier blue gloves from my son’s school, but I’m all out of them now and I don’t know where they came from, so I’m shopping around.  Wondering if you guys have found useful.

I buy XL Vinyl gloves from Harbor Freight, they are a loose fit compared to most nitrile gloves. They went up in price to $6.99 for 100 (50 pair). They are easy to remove and replace during a glue up.

I never had tear issues with gloves unless my hands were sweaty.
I had to use some el cheapo's during Covid that were small.
Use a fan to dry your hands and put them on.
Maybe your overthinking it.
I buy whatever  Kroger has

I use 7mil HF nitrile. Only problems I have with them is if I am using acetone or toluene, so I don't.
A little squirt of body powder in the glove goes a long way to keep them  from turning into sweat reservoirs.

I just got some off - bay. $65 per 1000 10 boxes. Used to be $35 before Covid.  :o

I get them at Walgreens.  Don't remember the cost but they are blue nitrile.

Every once in awhile I want to slap myself for not thinking of harbor freight.

Try your local cleaning supplies place, I get them cheap as chips here and they generally have various kinds (Nitrile, Vinyl, thicker etc.). Plus you don't have to wait for postage.

I used to put two pairs on at once when doing wet composite layups, nearly every time I had a reason to take a glove/pair off and it would save me having to muck around halfway through with epoxy going off and wet floppy layups trying to put another set on. Epoxy up the forearm is no fun  :laughing:

Ask a Proctologist, that's someone who really relies on quality gloves :thumbsup:
