With the loss of Ron a few years back and the closing down of the shop earlier this year I thought a photo tribute thread might be of some interest. Let's see what you guys and gals got.
Don't own any but must say those are very nice!
That green one is very cool. I saw some in the classifieds, but I'm trying very hard to limit myself :biglaugh:
I really like that green bow :bigsmyl:

Some pic's showing the green glass. Green has always been my favorite color. :)
Some specs from the 2 bows in the first picture. The green one is mine and it is 47# at 28" by 60" long. The rosewood is my son's and it is a 48# at 28" by 62" long. I went for the green look because I shot a 50# Bear Kodiak Hunter with green glass and futurewood for 2 decades. I wanted a takedown that was fastflite capable with a similar look. This was the bow that replaced my old Bear.
Any other Predator's? The intent of this thread is to showcase the Predator Classic Recurve, to honor Ron Pittsley's memory, and to lament the loss of a very well made bow. If you got one please show us what you got.
Thank you!
Wyatt
Fantastic bows. I have five, and always will ![attachment=1]
Just one more.[attachment=1]
Okay, One more.[attachment=1]
An early 90's one. Built just before he worked at Darton. Ron was a great guy, and built awesome bows.[attachment=1]
Those are all beauties. I'm partial to green as well. I almost bought a predator when they first came out.
But I'm a diehard Bear TD shooter these days. my days of custom bows are over
Thanks for sharing
Georgious bows, Stagetek! I really like the riser colors of the 2nd pic.
I always wanted to buy one but for one reason or another never pulled the trigger.
I was looking into buying one and noticed the website went down. I was afraid it closed. That's really sad news.
I shot them a couple times. If I was in the market for a three piece it would be right at the top of my list along with a bear takedown. They are sweet shooters!
Another Predator found its way to my house. 62" and 42 lbs. it's a sweet shooter.
I wish I had been able to get one before they went out of business. I got to put a few shots through a 62" at a 3d shoot. Always wanted to get a hunting weight one after that (45 to 50# @ 28) just haven't had a good opportunity yet.
Thank for starting this thread elkhunter and those who posted pics. Don't have any now, but I did meet Ron at the PBS gathering in Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. back in '92. Wanted to see the 'man who was remaking the Super Kodiak and Bighorns. Ordered a one piece from Ron at that time. You don't see many. Then sold it and ordered a 3 pc takedown. Was friends with Ron until his passing. Would be nice to own one again in his memory. He was quite a knowledgeable bowyer besides being quite accurate. I still shoot the Bighorns and Bear takedowns.

one of my all time favorite bows,,,for a bow that has no carbon in the limbs just red em and it smokes many of my other recurves that are 3 times the price and known for being fast,,the bow is stable and accurate and once you understood the grip wanted to be choked which many people didn't eve give a chance the bow became a killing machine, go watch those early chris sparks videos,, I won over 40 trophys with that recurve its retired and hangs proud on the #1 bow hook at home..
as for Ron Pittsley i shot along side him at denton hill he had a bow that was completely finished in a zebra camo pattern... I said jokingly C'mon Ron lets settle this right now then i watched him put 5 arrows into a strutting toms head that was 55yds up the hill at the huge practice field they had in coudersport,,,, I was stunned and said Ron you designed an amazing bow.
I bought a set of those zebra striped limbs from Lonnie at the Kalamazoo show about ten years ago. Still have them and shoot them from time to time. They are 50@28.
