I'll start it out, this is as nice a piece of Mammoth tooth and damascus as I've had for a while. It's on the way to Roughcountry for a fancy sheath right now. Can't wait to see what he comes up with.

I can't show you, but I can say that TGMM Memberships will be available again in the auction so here's the chance for all you that have been wondering to find out what it's all about and help a great cause to boot.
Awesome knife Doug, that one will bring in a truckload for the kids.
I have been thinking this might go on the auction block instead of the knife swap. Got just a little more polishing work to go.

I just started on a couple of bow racks like this one I built for myself. I haven't decided on the artwork yet but probably one with a turkey and one with a bugling elk.

I have this old arrow I'm not using. It is tapered ash from Raptor Archery, spined 48 pounds. It has a Mercury nock, and a 125 grain hex head on it (and some blood) and weighs around 600 grains.
Sorry, the owner had her name and an inscription on it, and a crudely drawn eagle feather. :(

This is shaping up like a typical St. Judes Tradgang Auction. I want everything I see!
If I have time to get one carved up and painted I'll also put one of my tupelo duck decoys up. I haven't decided on the species I'll carve yet but so far I'm thinking drake hooded merganser. I've got a block of tupelo that seems to have a hoodie hiding in it. These are self righting decoys ready to hunt over or put on display. Here are some samples. I know its not archery related but it is for a good cause.

It is archery related...some trad gangers are trying to shoot ducks & geese with bows. Plus they are beautiful...Doc
Awesome! :notworthy:
For the auction it doesn't have to be Trad Archery related. Fly fishing poles, afghans, you name it have been donated and all gladly accepted for the great cause.
Thanks. Never thought of shooting ducks with my bow. I'd be too worried about my dogs retrieving an arrow shot bird. I mainly duck hunt with one of my old side by sides so I can watch my chessie do her thing. Hopefully I can get one carved in time. When I lived in Memphis, the business I worked for regularly was involved with the patients at St. Judes so I know this is for a very deserving group of kids.
Oh Man, Craig, those are BEAUTIFUL!! I remember as a kid admiring the decoys my grandfather used to carve. Thanks for bringing back that memory. I'll be watching for those.
JOHN
I've been waiting for this ! Please consider adding one of my ArrowMasters
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/shooto8s/arromaster2011.jpg)
I can already see that i need to increase my paypal account!!!
Randy
I think Shell and I might have something cooking...Doc
Yep, about anything goes for the Auction. We're looking to raise alot of money for the kids this year and with this group of awesome givers I know it's gonna happen!! Lots of cool stuff already!! Thanks everybody!
I am still trying to work on some arrows for the auction. Can anyone give me an idea what spine would be "worth the most" for kids?
Also anyone who is willing to do some feather splicing for me, please drop me a PM or email. Got a grand idea in my head, but realize I do not have all the skills at this point!
Look forward to the auction... when does it start this year?
Thanks
John
I talked with Jim Hamm and we are going to donate a copy of TBB4 autographed by all the authors.
Mike
Here's this year's Texas Sweat knife. More details will be on the Auction listing.....

" Just the KOOKIES" NOT the Chick OR the Pres.
Now Vance.....Who in the world would believe that you are thinking about cookies? There will be many wonderful items up for bid. Get ready!
I can't wait although since I am working now I have limited computer time. Dang....It's going to be tough to keep up this year. Going to have to make my list and check it twice!
I have something in the fire for the auction :D as well as a few other items... one of which Vance might be interested in - up for a trip to CT?
I'll come up with something, not sure what I want to make yet....
I have it on good authority that there will be a few dozen more COOKIES this year. Of course, they're not Miss Kim's, but my wife can sure hold her own when it comes to baking.
That's what I like to hear Eric! I know more than a few fellers who like cookies...period. I can gaurantee baked goods will definately help this worthy cause :D
Who knows what's in store this year....
Best be for holdin a Board Meetin whip"o". May be a need to do some diversifyin an takin some future options.
Where's the Pres ?
Is he payin attention to this BULL market?? :goldtooth:
I just told Rose this AM (after "discovering" a nice little wall hanging, featuring "ruminants" of some kind, that someone , or more, will want - I'm sure ) that I am going to have to start taking pictures in early May in order to get all my little "goodies", and hers (can anyone say, Warm, Yarny things?) documented and ready for posting when the auction starts. Some (I hope) will bring large total bids but mostly I concentrate on donating enough smaller items so that no one, really wanting to get in on the fun and good deeds, need feel left out. I'm not positive (as I "collect them" throughout the year, like I do the Dinos for ATAR) but I'm convinced that I have more to offer this year than any previous year - and so does my generous and talented wife.
As for what is shown above I am blown away already and once again , "I wish I was rich instead of so D***ed good looking!"
(Love your "Killer Arrow", Killie)
I may pick out something and take a pic of it to whet appetites - but then again i may wait for all of them - you never know what I'm gonna do, other than "nip at everyones heels" - that you can count on :goldtooth:
Here are some pictures of the bow I am donating to this year's St Jude's auction. Excuse the pictures, the bow is near final tillered with all the nick's and scratches removed but still in the beginning finish stage, it will get 8-12 coats of tongue/tru oil before a bison leather grip is put on; It will look a whole lot nicer when it is finished. Specifications for the bow are/will be:
Osage selfbow, 58" nock to nock, 48#'s @ 28" (That's so Calvin can shoot it if he win's the bid and I won't have to lower the poundage for him, again), ebony tip overlays, backed with bison sinew and Texas Rat Snake skin (Couldn't locate a sturgeon skin).
Here is a picture of the bow braced and a braced tip:

Whip and Vance, let me know when the board meeting is, I would hate to miss it.
I would like to offer up this Basket quiver I made. Hope it will help the children. It now has a nylon web strap in a leopard pattern.
I'll donate 3 RH and 3 LH traditional feather rests. How do I sign up to be a donor? Maybe I just did :)

Vance, I don't think we want to diversify. I think that would mean we would own less of one thing (Miss Kim's Cookies), and more of other things.
What we really need to do is EXPAND our scope of operations! :readit: :bigsmyl:
Rob, somehow I missed signing the sheath for the beautiful knife down in Texas. Guess that means I will be required to buy it just so I can add my name to it! :goldtooth:
I will donate a book or better yet a 1/2 dozen of them. Shipping on me.
Hey Buff, will those will be signed?
If you want I will be proud to sign them
Walt that's sweet looking bow.
You got that right! Purty work indeed on that bow, Walt.
Walt, real nice bow!! Do you have a "Buy it Now" option? I've got my finger on the "buy" button but you gotta hurray before my wife gets home.

Well, if you (& the buyer) don't object, I could ship it over to you, to sign & then you ship it on. How'd that be?
Who do you have to see to donate something. My wife hand knits wool socks and would like to donate a pair.
Alan
You gotta see your wife. If she agrees, then donate them.
Killdeer~You can tell he's married. Good at it, too! :p
ROB are you NUTS...He's a Banker...He knows how to make things DISSAPEAR (http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d171/IronBull_/Smileys/pooffj9.gif)
He's a dear friend, however he's still MORTAL and is easily tempted :scared: :readit:
That will work if it has to Rob, but they better be prepared to bid high! I really like the looks of that knife & sheath and would prefer to just keep them here once I sign it. ;)
If I remember correctly, that Campbell guy from Montana aced me out at the buzzer on your knife last year. (As if he didn't have enough nice knives of his own) I don't intend for that to happen again! :readit: :p
I SIMPLY REST my CASE.....There ya have it. :bigsmyl:
Bull, I got to agree with you; them "bankers" is all alike. :biglaugh:
Thanks kill, my wife thinks your funny ha-ha-ha.
I'll have you know......never mind lol.
Ut-oh. I believe I discern a certain lack of consensus in a distant household. Obviously you are suffering a degree of cabin fever, common in the northern climes. Gather your fortitude, sir, and remember two things.
1) Spring is just around the corner.
2) Your wife is always right.
Killdeer :wavey: :biglaugh:
One out of two..ain't all that bad Killy :biglaugh: :jumper:
For the couple who have asked - doners (when the time comes) enter their own donations (preferably with pics if possible), descriptions and whether or not they will pay shipping - in the appropriate St' Jude's special set up forums (they will appear like magic). It is really just like starting any other topic/thread, except for where it is done.
Killie is right too, though; if it is an item made by (or belonging to  ) your wife - one better get permission from said wife first - :biglaugh:
Wow, gonna be a good one by the looks of the plunder showing up.
I've got something in the works here, should be finished in about a week.
Doug's Caper has got to have the sheath he designed for it. I'll figure out some way to make it suitable to wear to church.
Great stuff folks, can't wait to see the full list. Killies arra has blood on it, no good for any of you guys. Better let me hang it with her other one here on my wall :D
COOOOOOOOO KEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!! :bigsmyl:
* Rabbit not included.
:D
Killy,
Ya still have time on your mail rounds to find a fresh roadkill wabbit and home tan it to send along a hide at least! :)

Those are some sweet looking calls.
Dougs blade got here today. This is one pretty blade, my all time favorite Campbell blade to date. The picture don't even come close to showing the damascus patern or the blade. The tang tapers down to ultra thin at the back of the handle. And the handle scales are on a backing.
Some one is gonna be dang happy to get this one. It's a beut :notworthy:
Gonna be tough to ship this one back ;)
Super Sweet in the hand HU....Robin?
It'll look good wrapped in Black Nylon don't ya think. (http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d171/IronBull_/Smileys/2434.gif)
Beautiful calls Blacktail. I'll be watching that one!
Charlie, Those are some nice looking bows. :notworthy:
Here's what I worked on today. Still got a ways to go but here's a preview. I knew there was a hoodi hiding in that block of wood.

I wonder if I can get one of those sub-prime bank loans before the auction??!!
Doug,
I will donate a custom made arm guard w/knife and either 1 dozen wooden arrows or 1/2 dozen Grizzly or AD's made to winning bidders specs.
Here are some samples:

Last years highest bidder found one of these.... (http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii297/sophiahorsman/paris160.jpg)
Anyone else want one??????
Not everyone will be able to win the bid on the Sunbear, so how about building a bow of your own?
Shawn Webb and I are going to offer a 5 day bow building/whitetail hunting trip for two at my cabin in Wisconsin. Shaun will provide staves and the bow building expertise. I will serve as camp cook and gopher.
Hunt whitetails in the mornings and evenings, and build bows during the day. The goal will be to have you hunting with your new bow before the end of the trip. No experience is required, and everything you need will be provided.

I WON.....I WON..... Thanks JOE & SHAWN :clapper: :clapper:
Hope ya got room for Me and The Sunbear, Kookies, a few Knifes, Turkey calls and all the rest the new stuff I'm ah bringin :goldtooth:
Wow...just catching up on this thread.....too much to choose from...and not enough Bens.
It boggles the mind - and heart, Terry - and we haven't even reached full "open boggling season" yet - :jumper:
I almost had a heart attack...I thought Whip was auctioning that gorgeous place off!
Oh, why, oh, why...did we get cut to 4 days last month? :knothead:
Don't sweat it Doc...we'll share :-)
Biggie,
I like that "we'll share."
You and I...that makes we.
You buy and I'll share it with you. :jumper:
Thanks,
Gene
I am only bidding on one thing this year so yes guys better dig deep to beat me. HE HE HE.
When does the auction take place???
"Don't sweat it Doc...we'll share :-)"
Oh, Biggie, you have no clue about Doc.

2-cedar Scratch box calls, one each to the top two bidders. I will handle shipping in lower 48. Similar to these but not exactly the same, each call might be a little different......stabow
(http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f60/stabow/Roseoak001-1.jpg)
Those cedar scratch calls, and the previously listed Wing Bone calls, are extremely pretty calls. I predict they will do well.
Heck, even the "listing" of Doc Nock is "pretty" ............ with a whole slather of cookies in his hand! :goldtooth:
Chris,
Definetely want one!...this year I'll have computer access during the final days. Got caught without a computer the last days of the auction...ouch!
Bernie I will be able to bid only the first day so I am setting the bar high for those afghans of Rose. My two ladies really loved the ones I got them last year.

From the 6500 Mile Colaboration, Robtattoo, and Traditional Leather Works by Tim Roberts, will be this Knife/Armguard combination.
Owlbait is SERIOUS, folks, he tried to get 3 or 4 last year but got bid out of all but two at the end cause he had to leave town. Gonna be some surprises in that area this year, I'm thinking.
WOW, that is a handsome collaboration Tim and Rob, from front to back and top to bottom.
WOW Tim, even if I don't win that one, I want one!!
Biggie? Sharing a cookie? Now this I gotta see...
I'm gettin' HONGRY for some COOOOOOO KEEEEEEES!!!
My previous ideas are not going to happen this year.
I did talk the wife into parting with a couple jars of Homemade Apple Butter , and we will be making some sort of other sweets ( cookies/fudge/??? ) to go with the jam. :readit:
I am not a jelly/jam kinda guy but this here apple butter is the cats meow on some toast. :jumper:
John
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, Apple Butter is the best. If you didn't care for it so much as a kid, it was just because jams and jellies were sweeter. Try it again and you'll find most folks like it better and better as they grow/age, untill you prefer it over all others. Good fer ya too, by gum! Oh - and verrrrrrrrrrrrrry traditional ;) at least in the apple growing states.
Killy, we could dunk those oreos in the apple butter!!!!!!!!!
Doc doesn't know much about cookie eatin...he doesn't have near enough milk there.

Ron B
Robin, You are a true master or your craft, it don't get any better then that. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
OK guys n gals...you can now go show them on the General Listing Forum!!!!!!!
St Judes General Listing Forum (http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum;f=118)
I think the sheath is prettier than the knife and the knife is breathtaking. I know where I will be bidding. :)
Robin and Doug, I just know that sheath and knife are way out of my league. No sense in me even looking at that anymore.
(I hope lies and deceptions are OK as strategies, aren't they? ;) )
Beautiful work on the sheath - to match the beautiful work on the knife (seen earlier).
What? We can start posting offerings? How the heck did I get this far behind? (I know, working on my 'First Osage Self Bow" - :D ) NOW - where'd I put my camera - and all that weird "stuff" ;) .
Nice looking work Jamie !
Man, I just don't have enough in my Mason Jar for all of these GOODIES. :readit: :knothead:
LOL, Ron - I don't have enough - IN ALL MY LIFETIME, for all these GOODIES!!!
I may have to wait 'til morning to start listing - I don't want to have to use the flash that much for the pics. :)
My family runs a pure maple sugar camp in the spring. I just picked up a quart of their finest. It will be on the auction block. This isnt your average "store" variety. We are talking collected from the trees, stored, boiled down in the "sugar shack" then bottled on the spot once it gets to be about right. It has been done in the family for years now and it has become an early spring past time. I hope it does well for the kids.
