Hi all,
Well with my new BlackWidow PLX in hand I had the thoughts of doing some bare shat testing on the beach dunes seeing I live 5 blocks from the beach.
The day was running on us but we loaded up with a few bows and a good combonation of arrows and shafting and away we went. Samuel is planning on hunting goats with his wheelie bow so some B'head shoots were also needed.

My son Samuel found an old plactic bottle on the beach to shoot at and I was planning on shooting into the dunes to the left of his target.

And the recovery...

When I spotted this pic I was shocked to see how tall my boy has growen. It seams like yesterday I was teaching him to shoot with a home made bow and some cut down arrows, now at ten he's up to my shoulder.... and I'm 6'3"..!

Here is a close up of my mate, looks like I'll have to do some work on his high elbow...

But it looks like his realese is OK...

And if only he'd get himself a haircut as well. In my day...... you know the rest...

My daughter Isobel was on hand to offer shooting tips and hugs as well...

In all it was a fine afternoon on the beach. Oh and I think 2117's work the best too!

AK.
Haircut :scared: the boy is practically bald! :bigsmyl: Looks like you are having fun, would of thought that you would be sick of sand by now. Joseph
You're a lucky man Al!
Hope my arrow tuning will look like this in 10 years!
Awesome...love it bud!!
I wouldn't worry much about that elbow.......his follow-thru looks great!
On the eagle's flight quiver.....get it where you want it and put it on as tight as you can...then push it up the fade out even further...it get even tighter and will stay in place even without arrows in it.....
Good for you my long distance friend, one heck of a day at the beach :notworthy:
Thanks Al, for letting us tag along. Days like that are never forgotten.
Great pics Al! Thanks for sharing! Great looking family you got there! ;)
Great Pic's!!
No finer way to spend a day. You are truly a rich man.
Thanks for letting us in Al. Wonderful pics and beautiful kids (look like their mother, no doubt). These are days to be treasured.
Dave
I agree with Curt, his elbow is fine, great form!
BD :)
What a great way to spend an afternoon.
Your right about the sand Jo-jo, but this sand is aussie sand so no IEDs.
Yeh we had a few starting problems with the new bow quiver but I've sorted that out now. Thanks for the help Guru, nice work in TBM too.
Thanks all, and yes I guess his hair looks
OK...ish.
Regards,
AK.
Thanks for the pics Alan, great looking kids. Enjoy them now as they grow up way to fast, I know my son will be 36 next month, and it seemed like only yesterday.
How are you liking the BW LB, it looks nice and I bet it shoots great.
Al,you have a couple of great looking kids there my friend! I tell you buddy, cherish these times as they will be gone before you know it. I remember taking my kids along to the bigger bow shoots when they were about that age. Now I am a grandpa and my youngest "baby" is 26! God bless you and yours-Mike
Al, I was struck by the contrast of thoughts your pictures brought up in me. I see a perfect example of fatherly love and the perfect example of stewardship and admiration children have of their father. I also know somewhat of the nature of your work away from home. It is a stark contrast but neccessary in the world we live in. Thank you for the sacrifices you've made and reminding us "why". What a range of emotions and natures we humans have. Good lookin' kids by the way and I'm sure they are very proud of you as well. I think I'll go harass mine awhile now.
Like everybody else has already said Al, great looking kids, it's clear they've had a good example set for them. Enjoy it while you can, mine used to shoot with me all the time now the youngest is almost 18 and she'll graduate next month. It seems I'm not nearly as cool as I used to be ;)
Thanks again for taking us along to the beach Mate
Thanks for the memories! Can't believe my own son is grown and off protecting us, rather tahn the other way around.
O gee Doug, your always cool to me mate! I sent "The long haired one" a parcel today, you have something in it too.
AK.
Good on ya Al! Looks like you are maximizing your time home.
