Need some helping choosing between the Valkyrie bloodsport in 250 grain or rms cutthroat single bevel in 250 grain for a whitetail setup. I currently shoot grizzlys but I’m getting sick of them not staying sharp through the season. I ground hunt mostly so my arrows slide in and out of the quiver often and it seems like the grizzlys only take a few passes before they aren’t as sharp as I prefer. I like the design of the Valkyrie and having a three blade. I think that design breaks the rules for the traditional three blade so I don’t believe penetration would be an issue. But I’m not completely sure. If anyone has some experience with them your input would be appreciated. I’m also shooting 48 lbs at 29 inches with a 670 grain arrow

All heads dull from being carried around in the quiver, even those you don't pull out frequently. The vibration of the quiver hood at each shot tends to dull the edges. Most folks just touch up their heads after every couple of hunts or so.

Gotta start sharp my mans. You can also add some coating on your heads to minimize oxidation. I use grizzly Broadheads a lot and don’t have your issue. But I also sharpen with KME to an extremely honed edge and coat the edge with sharpie during hunting season and when I put them in the arrow box I put the green plastic-type coating I get online from a person whom name I can’t remember.
Cant speak on the two Broadheads you mentioned. I do have the RMS gear heads. They are about 3x the cost fo grizzly and should have better steel and in theory once sharp should stay sharp for a loooooong time. But I have yet to sharpen them. Looking at the others you mentioned I would not know where to even begin on maintaining sharpness with those things. Good luck

Agree with Orion, they'll all dull a little in ur quiver, I shoot about same poundage and have had good luck with vpa 3 blade 200gr and also cutthroat single bevel 200gr, pass throughs on hogs and deer. Gotta keepum scary sharp, I check them before every hunt. Sorta sharp ain't cutting it😁

My concern is how much does it take to dull them when they go through an animal. I’ve heard of people picking up broadheads on the other side of animals and shaving with them. I don’t believe you could do that with grizzlys. I’m also considering the iron wills 225 solid. The ability to use a2 steel is very intriguing. I believe the valkyries are made of s7 but I’m unsure. And I also won’t hunt with a broadhead I’m not scared of.

I'm old school Snuffer, ACE, Ribtek, but lately VPA and Grizzly Instinct. Also, have a few Zwickey Deltas laying around, but prefer heavier heads on tapered wood arrows.

I'm going to try single bevel 200 gr Grizzly's on some hogs before deer season comes in. I've already purchased them and now I'm concerned about them not holding an edge. I'll buy whatever I need they will stay sharp in my quiver, was hoping the Grizzly's would work.

I've killed from bunnys to bison with 3 blades. If I can kill a 2000#+ bison with a 70# longbow and a fixed 3 blade(buried to the fletch) then you can surely consistently kill deer with your bow and a 3 blade.
I will say I do not like the long narrow tip of those Valkeries, I'd use a 250 VPA. Lot stronger up front, AND no abrupt cutting angle change.
Deer are grocery bags full of shaving cream, a few tinker toys, and one ball joint. Just stay away from the ball joint.....no matter what head.
