Very Cool, I think you will do well. Just wear black! Shawn
Good shootin'....What kind of blind is that?
David
Nice shooting and a good video
Shy boy, ain't he? Come on out of there and let's see how you do it!
Laughed out loud on that second clip!
Killdeer
i know chris has to work untill 9 tonight then i'm sure he will be on. after the secound clip my cam battery gave up the ghost and it was then that i saw one of the best shots of my life. Chris has stuck an arrow he had just picked up in the ground and we walked on to scout some turkeys. on the way back he looked at that arrow and said i can't pass up a shot like this! at 22 or 28 paces ( can't remember ) he proceded to draw and nail that arrow!!! awesome shot! remember his 28 paces ( stride of a T Rex ) are equal to about 52 of mine!
I like the video. I think he should wear a black glove on his bow hand.
as Chris is new at using a blind i'm sure he would love any advice/info you can give him.
Chris knows about the "black",he mentioned a while back he collecting his black turkey gear....
Best of luck to you Chris...get'um close and break'um down!
Oh, this is the year I finally arrow a bird, folks. And not just a domestic one.
Widowbender, don't quote me on it, but I believe it's and Ameristep Stackhouse. I'm 6'4" and shoot a 64" longbow with a 30" draw. It's about as snug as can be without being a HUGE problem, but it works. As I told Ken though, shellin out for a DB next year. Just too darn big... :bigsmyl:
Curt's right, I already know about the black. That pic just seems to emphasize the need for it. Like Ken said though, blind hunting is new to me, and any tips sure would be appreciated...
Soda bottles for targets!!! Why haven't I thought of this?!? What do you fill them with? How long do they last?
Looking good , good luck :0)
Great shootin! Wont have any problems getting a turkey with how well you shoot! 1 more question, Do you have a recipe for " soda can gobbler" :biglaugh:
i like it looking good. oh and welcome back bro :clapper:
For all who wanted info on the soda bottle targets, it's really quite simple. I just fill an empty soda bottle with commercial spray foam. Fill 'em up halfway and let em' dry/expand. 1 can of your average spray foam from the local home depot or hardware store seems to do about 4 bottle. Really makes for a nice, cheap target.
As far as their durability, well, they're no block or bag target. I got through about 1 every week or more. But that was a good solid week of shooting 3 dozen arrows (at least) a day; just hammering the things with field tips as well as hex heads, judo's, and my 160 Snuffers. Besides, after a while of shooting them in the middle, they usually break in two. This just gives ya' two targets that are even more demanding to shoot at. Excellent form of practice in my book...
Great shooting, I would say he is ready.
What kind of blind is that, look plenty tall enough?
