I haven’t seen one of these yet, so hope it’s ok to start one up!
Post ‘em if you’ve got ‘em! Big or small, or anything else cool you stumble across in your adventures!

I never have done much shed hunting, but I’m giving it a shot this year. My son (9 years old) is interested, which motivates me to get out there as well.
Earlier this week we went to a spot on the farm we haven’t visited in a while, and found it flooded due to beavers damming the branch. Here’s my son crossing the dam.
After we crossed I was walking through about a foot of water and stepped on something hard and round. Moved it around with my boot until I saw an eye socket! Not sure what happened to this ol’ girl, but managed to find her jaw bones close by.
No antlers yet, but I felt good about our first find on only our second outing!
-
I found one bald dead head before the snow came. My dad found a small 3 pt. Several of the deer were still carrying last week according to trail cameras
-
Charlie, I pulled a card today and found much the same—many bucks still sporting headgear. I’m hoping to take some time off in early March and do some longer day hikes while looking for antlers.
-
I have found two small ones and this one the dog found.
-
Gordon, that shed makes you're dog look small
-
My wife and I shed hunt each year, but with -40 wind chills and 20 inches of snow it's going to have to wait a bit first.
-
We have never really hunted for sheds, just stumbled on a few. My daughter in law started deer hunting last year and was determined she was going to find some sheds. My son took her out and walked some of the trails on our land and last weekend they found 6. Two of them were from the same buck and were about 3 feet from each other. Her first year hunting she shot one of the biggest bucks we have ever shot on our property. I told her she is the luckiest little hunter I have ever seen. I think she is hooked.
-
I've only been out twice with the dog. Not a great pic, but this was her first wild shed find by herself. I actually spotted it first, but just let her find it. It was a year old shed, not a new drop.
-
I don't hunt sheds on purpose but if I see them I pick them up.
A few I've found through the years.
-
Only found one so far this year. Haven't looked for sheds on purpose....
Had this guy behind the house all fall. Have many pictures of him on this scrape. Give him a couple years.....
I'm bad at setting the dates/times on trail cameras. This was mid October this fall.
Dec 12 he showed up with one horn....he dropped that one early!
And here he is losing the 2nd horn, on camera....
Coyote checking it out....
Then I showed up to check the camera....
I like shed hunting this way! :biglaugh: (no comments on the hat, please....)

My youngest son with an armful of elk sheds he found behind our house walking through the piñon-juniper.
-
Pretty cool Ryan!!
-
So cool that he dropped one in front of your camera! Hope you can find the match.
And good golly, those elk antlers! I think even I’d have a hard time missing those.
-
Cant wait for the snow to melt I will be out there! Love shed season!
-
Well, heck J. Adams, a blind man could find antlers that big.

I found zero that day! Oh to have young eyes again... :biglaugh:

We have been shed off for the most part for 3 weeks give or take. The heavy snow and brutal temps here have kept us from looking. We had a very unusual 6 point (very tall, high forked with some mass) in our yard near the lake a bunch of times and know he was sticking pretty close. I would love to find his sheds.
Good luck to all the shed hunters.
-
I don’t actively hunt sheds, but I spend enough tim out that I find one now and then. 7 scorable, oughtta be nice in a year or two.
-
Great finds guys. It's been warm enough to melt snow the last 3 or 4 days. My rain date to the farm is this still weekend. Hope to find a couple. They e been bedding near our food plot and hanging close. They love the radishes this year
-
I haven’t started my serious shed hunting yet. Still waiting for a few bucks to drop.
I did go into a specific area looking for the sheds from a specific buck. Found his sheds 150 yds from where I found them last year. Been chasing him a few years.

That’s nice when they leave them laying in the middle of the road for ya.

I found 2 this weekend. Moved them to where my 5 year old nephew Cylas can find them in 2 weeks
-
He's been obsessed with finding one since last July or August

:clapper: I used to do the same for my boys when they were young. Good memories!!
-
Great job Charlie!!
Now come down and set some out for me? :biglaugh:
-
Kenny, you have Zwickey for that now, but I'd love to romp around looking for sheds down there provided the chiggers are not out
-
Charlie I did that once and when we went back they were gone. Figured coyotes got it... :banghead:

I have two weeks to bite my fingernails. I tried to put them in places they'd be less chewed on by squirrels. One is directly in front of the trail camera behind the cabin in our food plot. My dad found a small 3 pt there.
At the end of the day I hope he finds them, if not it's less stuff laying around. Shed antlers are cool but just lay in a (very small) pile in my room
-
A good afternoon of stump shooting!
-
Nice shed bull.
-
My nephew cylas found his first 2 sheds. His pictures say enough. I only wish I was there.

Sometimes they find you. This is behind my shop where I have a 3d target set up and the tripod in the background is where I hang the bow while pulling arrows.
-
Well the deer never yarded up this year so we are not having any luck, not looking good. But because I like this picture from last year I feel justified in sharing it. This is my grandson who may have that thing in him that draws him to antlers. Just like me. :biglaugh: [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Nice finds , I looked for a couple hours the last two days, nothing yet.

That was very considerate of him.
I just spent about an hour and a half hiking around on the farm. Tons of tracks and some other sign, but no antlers. I did get to watch a raccoon messing around in a hole in a dead tree, which was pretty neat. Stuff you don’t see sitting in the couch.

Charlie,
If I ever come up with that many finds at once, I’m gonna pose just like this proud fella! :clapper:

Cy is amazing. He can trip over a shed and then pick out a Turkey vertebrae bone in a tree at 80 yards.

Good looking dog and shed, Charlie! Nice mass all the way through that antler.

Zwickey did you ever see him?
-
My shed hunt turned into a head hunt as well...

Zwickey did you ever see him?
Sure did, a few times before the season and only seen him once without velvet.

Picked up this matched set from a 2 1/2 yr old the other day, on my new farm. Was thrashing around back in the jungle and stumbled on them in a bed. That place is so thick I'm not gonna find many sheds!

On a down note, found these two on the permission property I hunt here at home. This is the place I have killed most of my Indiana bucks on over the years. Found them a few weeks ago. Either from later in early archery, more likely during rifle, season. Were unrecovered shot deer based on location and timing.
Bucks were within 200yds of each other in first thick cover on this property bordering cornfield that borders neighboring woods.
