The expectation of receiving a new bow propagates elevated anticipation and remains a thrill which brings elevated anticipation.
The preconception and contemplation have been quite stirred with a new Bob Lee Ultimate projected to be delivered in February.
Are there many others anticipating a new bow this year?
-
Yep...got a JT Traditions Apollo 62" and 48 @ 28 on the way shortly...basically a copy of this years HOPE bow except the draw weight...Getting ready for old age and cold fall days with the weight drop.
-
The preconception and contemplation is over.I got 4 delivered in Jan. 2021.With another on the way soon LOL.Been a good year so far in that regard
The one I am waiting on is an A&H 2 piece.Black and White Ebony.
I hope your Ultimate is the ultimate for you!!!Let us know.Hope it doesn't make your other bows too jellous. You got some nice ones.Who will be the Alpha.
-
No additional bows in the stable. Three of the four I have and shoot are no longer being made, so I'll hang on to them. It's still a treat to shoot the bows I love.
:campfire:
-
Yep ordering a Shrew today
-
I just received a new to me Toelke Super D. Very happy with it so far. I don’t have plans to buy any more bows in 2021, but I feel like I might have said that last year before I bought/sold/traded several! :biglaugh:
-
Yes! There is an extremely special Tall Tines recurve on order. I don't see any bow i will ever own having more meaning than this on. The wife got it has a wedding/birthday/christmas gift. It will be 45@28. Will be engraved with interlocking hearts with our names in them our wedding date under that. Above them the bows name "lovebird" the string will be our two girls favorite colors (purple and pink) the limb bolt screws will be antler bases from a set of sheds my grandpa found and made into rattling antlers. The quiver will be laser engraved with picture that my dad drew. It might be difficult to take it into the brush and risk getting a scratch! Im planning on shooting the new greenwood arrows out of it but will have tk see what it likes best. Going to be a long wait until summer.
-
Picked up a used Two Tracks Flat bow and a Hill Big Five, new to me! Both shoot nice. A couple of ILF combos I’m playing with also !!
-
I’m having a Yellowstone Half Breed being built. Should be here sometime early spring.
-
I've been bad! I have a Centaur 64" sometime this year a Dwyer original being made, and I'm going to get one of the Bear mag risers too :archer2:
-
Picked up a Martin Mamba last weekend. Just ordered a string for it from Daniel at HCB.
Randy (Primal Tech bows) has my longbow limbs done. I need to get my riser to him to get them fit up. I'd like to be able to just switch limb sets for different rounds at TBOT shoots this year. Assuming they don't get canceled of course.
I have no plans for any other bows but I tend to stay flexible on things like that.
-
I hope to pick up an A Bear TD riser this year.
-
I’m having a Yellowstone Half Breed being built. Should be here sometime early spring.

No plans now for anything new or used in '21...BUT, that's been known to change !
-
While there is no current plan to buy a new bow this year I do reserve the right to change my mind as the need arises :bigsmyl:
-
I talked to Steve last week at Northern Mist and he was finishing up my bow.... so I should get it soon. Been a long wait, since April, but I know it is worth the wait. It is a Ramer with Flame Birch and antler tips. At 74 yrs old this could be my last one and I am blessed to have a Silvertip recurve and now a quality longbow... something special about carrying a longbow...
-
Those Shrew bow seem interesting. Don't know muck about them
-
I was supposed to pick up my Northern Mist Skanee at the Trad Bow Expo in Kalamazoo, but those plans have changed with its cancelation. It's a 66" bow 55# @ 28". Osage riser with flamed birch veneers and bamboo cores, but since Steve has to ship it, I decided to have him build me an extra set of limbs that will make a 60" bow, and 45# @ 28" and having these done with Osage veneer.

Just have to make one call to finalize the order for a new Destiny longbow from Wild Horse Creek bows. I have one Destiny but am dropping a bit more weight due to couple injuries this winter.
-
Ordered a 62" 46 lbs. @ 29" from Poison Dart longbow from Buddy in late November should get in early spring.
-
Nope. Saving up to buy a farm.
My bows work fine for now.
-
I´m waiting for my Dryad ILF bow to arrive. Ultra light mountain hunter 17" with long recurve limbs. Boy the international shipping is weird now, the bow went from Texas to Illinois, back to Texas and from there it went to Japan and is now headed to (hopefully) through Netherlands to Finland. I´m super anxious to get the bow as it may get here in time for me to hunt the winters grouse season here in Finland.
-
Picked up some sweet horn tip Dale Dye limbs
-
On order, Black Widow PTFX, Osage and cocobolo, 60 inches 40@27, plus some extra pretties. This bow will share the rack with two other Widows, a PSAV (two sets of limbs) and a Widow PLV.
-
Spent my bow money on this. Got it at Blackbook Dealer price from my brother.
-
You have a HedgeHunter super hunter 50@28” what more could a bowhunter want?
Shawn~
-
Nope. Saving up to buy a farm.
My bows work fine for now.
While I enjoy the anticipation of receiving a new bow, I have the desire to become the best shot I can be, and for me I think that means shooting the same bow regularly.
So no new bows for me forever!
( that line was for you Chase) who am I kidding I love getting a new bow. But maybe someday I will find that one special bow.
-
I anticipated a Bear LES-3 last year. :dunno: Both Bear and my dealer refuse to give me an update. If something doesn’t happen within the next month, I’m going to cancel it and order a cheaper ($ not quality) Black Widow PSRX.
-
A David Miller Split Bamboo or Sage. :coffee:
-
Mine is on its way BigFoot Sasquatch special
[/quote
Absolutely gorgeous English Walnut riser, I know she will shoot as good as she looks, enjoy.
-
A new Schafer Silvertip 1pc in a few months.
-
Would have to believe that Smag will be widdling out a couple of new ones in 2021.
-
I have more bows than I ever dreamed of having. No new (or vintage) ones in near future. My dollars and energy will go towards enhancing the habitat on my farm.
-
Finished one yesterday. Rubbed some oil in it, gonna make some kid very happy when I gift it away.
You dont know the felling until you harvested with a HedgeHunter custom selfbow.
New Bow is called Bownado
HH~
-
I have a Super Kodiak in transit. Should be here Saturday.
-
Nothing on the immediate horizon.
-
I had a few different bows on my mind for this year, but am now leaning towards investing into arrow making material pretty heavily and getting back into making wooden arrows. I have been saying that I was going to do it for years, and with the state of things, no time better than right now.
-
Here she comes! And again an exceptional shooter! Thanks Kirk

Here's a picture. Blacktail

:shaka:
-
A "new to me" second Robertson Mystical LB. Turns out this one was made for the same owner of my Robertson Prairie Falcon TD.
It kinda floored me when I found out, but I'm super stoked that I have two customs for the same person in the same province, from the same era of Robertsons.

Well, was not really planing on one, but just ordered a Cari-bow Taiga Ex 62" 50lbs at 30" walnut burl limbs. Should be quite the looker and I suspect will shoot even better! Hope to shoot a nice Saskatchewan black bear and some big Alberta Deer with it!
-
It's here! What a nice shooter, didn't even need string silencers (I took away the ones in the picture). Shoots really fast, I had my grouping 5" high compared to my other setup that is 10# heavier.
Thanks to Wingnut from dryad bows
-
Just recently recieved a new to me 58" take down Toelke Whistler! My first Toelke and I am loving it! Have had the urge for quite some time to also try out a Poison Dart longbow, so the future may just present one of those for me.
-
Not 'in the market' per say.... but keeping an eye out in the classifieds just incase a to longbow I'd like comes along...
But I am fixing to list a few in the classifieds starting tomorrow.... got to get rid of a few.... :campfire:
-
My first one of this year is a new-to-me Warrick Harvey Crowned Eagle R/D longbow.
-
Nothing immediate as my self bow is doing fine. Watching the Shrew bows, they look interesting.
-
I told anyone who would listen Im done buying bows. Yeah you know how it goes. Gamemaster Jet. And a Sierra Blanca. Sweet rigs... [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]
-
I have a Black Widow PCH, zircote and bocote riser with carbon limbs ordered and coming in May!
And started putting cash back in the jar to save up for a PL, thinking an Autumn Oak 2 piece.
Never owned any Black Widows before!
-
I’ve been pretty blessed the last few months. I wanted a Shrew bow for several years and right around New Years I received my new Shrew autumn gold classic hunter II..... bought some nice new arrows and a nice back quiver (my first) today. Yesterday I was fortunate enough to get a rifle I’ve wanted forever and never thought I’d ever have. Not to be greedy but I do want a new ASL this year..... give it a try. 2021 is off to a pretty good start other than my back and knees :biglaugh:
-
Found a nice Caribow Amisk from a member .. it's on it way!!! Still pondering on a new bow :campfire:
-
Got a BW 2 piece PLX 64”, 52#@28” on order and also have a bob lee hardcore longbow 62” 46#@28” on order. Can’t wait.
-
Am anxiously awaiting the build and delivery of a special bow that has a most legendary heritage that continues to thrive.
Mr. Bob Lee’s traditional ingenuity will be its solid foundation as it will be brought to life by the skill and passion of the two Bob Lee generations.
How fitting it is to be receiving a Bob Lee Ultimate as Mr. Bob Lee was the Ultimate for many of us.
-
Awesome
-
I’m having a Yellowstone Half Breed being built. Should be here sometime early spring.
I have two Yellowstone Half Breeds they are awesome I got on the list for Rich's Yellowstone Longbow.
Well that didn't take long Rich message me the other day and asked what woods I wanted can wait.
-
Use to make a bunch of Bob Lee Hunter's but my copies were 62". Still have the form in shed somewhere. Fast bows and at 62" they were a bit easier on the fingers.
Always looking for a nice Fasco, Westbow, Drake, J Howard, Pearson take down or Browning made by Harry D. So, who know what may fall onto the bow wall?
Shawn~
-
Well..... just payed for my second bow for the year. Managed to get a beautiful Northern Mist Classic with green glass. 2021 is rolling :bigsmyl:
-
I got 2 Richard Korte 1960 Kodiak Special replica's recently.A 60 incher and a 54 incher.I sold the 60 incher and got it back thankfully. They are sweet looking and superb shooting Classics.Plus they match up well together grip and style wise.
Just got a Widow PAX in 62 inches. Its all 5 star Black and White Ebony with white and black glass accents.Super baaaad looking and elegant at the same time.Very happy with the aesthetics, accuracy and shooting qualities of this bow.The PAX is my favorite Widow model looks wise.:)

Im looking very hard at the timberghost takedown with the g3 limbs. Very hard
-
Just placed my order with Mike @ Maddog Archery. He said it should be 10-12 weeks.
-
I received a tall tines Stickflinger a week ago. [email protected]
-
With the help of some advice I got from this forum, I got a Stalker Jackal FXT longbow 64"/48#@28" and matching 62" recurve limbs. Been shooting it as much as the cold weather will allow and I'm really liking it! Smooth and quick!
-

HH~
-
Just acquired these 2 this week....Wes Wallace Mentor and a Blacktail Elite VL. Love the lines of these take down recurves.
-
Kdog....those two are beauties...
-
Thankyou...I feel lucky acquiring them. Now if I can just shoot them half as good as they look...lol.
-
Funny you should ask, Yes,
two in the last week.
Just received a new set of limbs for my schafer, 50# at my draw, camo, making a 60" bow.
and
Yesterday I traded off a kodiak for a long bow for my wife. "yep" making an effort to turn my spouse into a shooter and include her in my obsession. I know the chances of success, but have to try.

-
I don’t think a new bow is in the cards for me this year, but planning on ordering my son a Maddog Pup at some point soon. He’s showing more interest in shooting, and want him to graduate to a nicer bow.
-
I’ve sold several bows over the last few years. I’m down to 5 only 2 of which I hunt with. I’ve sent Ron King a deposit on most likely a dual shelf Fox traditional longbow. Right handed is getting easier for me after a left reverse shoulder replacement.
-
Received an email from Rich yesterday. My Half Breed is on its way. Here’s a pic of it the he sent me.
-
I got a new Destiny takedown longbow from Wild Horse Creek about 2 weeks ago
43# 64”. It’s a beauty. Went to Texas last week and got 2 javelina with it.
-
No new bows for me this year (so far) but have some of the new supercurve limbs Bob Lee is making on order for use on my Legacy riser.
-
I have a Hurst Prana Static that will be completed early next week and on its way to me with a nice Thunderhorn Linx Quiver with a calf hair accent in middle.
The static Prana has Black & White Ebony veneers and Black and white Riser as well.
Sold a bow and made almost enough to pay for it .
:jumper:
-
I ordered a Black Widow PTFX still working of what woods I am going with, I am going to call it Joe's Bow.....
-
Well, things looked unlikely earlier, but I guessed this week cinched it. My wife bought a house and a car one day apart. No bow and no truck, so I'll just go cry in my beer for a while. Hey, it's as good an excuse to drink beer as anything else I can think of right now. At least I can salivate over the pictures of new bows acquired by you lucky ones.
-
I now have a Black Widow PLIII coming in August to go with the PCHX coming in May!
-
Nothing on the horizon for me. I’m madly in love with my Primal Tech recurve/longbow. Only possible right now would be to order another riser so I don’t have to switch limbs at the 3D shoots.
Bisch
-
Hearing allot of good about Wild Horse Creek bows.
:coffee: :campfire: :archer2:
-
Does a weight reduction count as a new bow?! I just sent Dan Toelke my TD Whip that unfortunately has become a little too stout for me...
-
heck yeah! My three bows that were reduced are like brand new to me.
-
Many new toys for many...yeah!!!
-
BCO, gonna build it..
Osage belly, cedar core and bamboo backed....
Kind of like this BBO..
-
Yep...got a JT Traditions Apollo 62" and 48 @ 28 on the way shortly...basically a copy of this years HOPE bow except the draw weight...Getting ready for old age and cold fall days with the weight drop.
Yes.... very nice bow!!!....i sure enjoyed Hope in TX last year... you bet... may have to bid on her.
-
I have a Stalker Coyote FXT with longbow limbs on order and it should be ready soon. Cocobolo and Bocote. My favorite woods. Will soon follow up with recurve limbs.
BT
-
Got a Kanati on the build list also a Northern Mist Ramer, so im set for today..
-
In the interest of going up in draw weight, I purchased a Black Hunter longbow, 50# @ 28”. Bare shafted it last week and it didn’t take long to get the arrows properly tuned. So far I’m very impressed with it. It’s not a beauty, but the performance for the price is quite a bargain.
My son just received his Maddog Pup and started shooting it. Such a cool little bow—whisper quiet and super accurate. It’s 26# @ 26”, so with his 21” draw he’ll have plenty of growing room!
-
I have a Poison Dart LB on order. Will not be completed until Oct. Also have a Yellowstone Hunter LB on order. Should be done in Jul-Aug time frame. Ken
-
No more bows, but traded a Martin MTD for a Mid 1970's Bear Grizzly 58" that has been refinished and painted.
:campfire: :archer2:
-
I just received a new set of limbs for my Primal Tech. 41# at 30”.

Nice!
-
I'm going to look for something in the 43lb to 45lb range to try to learn a few new things on.
-
Wow.... 5 pages???? Nice Scott....
Although i walk out and cold shoot my 60 -65# MOABS still... AND I got a 62# JT Traditions aka Hope which I LOVE.....
I'm gearing up for later in life.....Got a 55# Super Shrew last year and getting a 50# Centaur this year... thanks to Smokin Joe.

-
Started out the year thinking I was going to order a new Shrew, one Dr call changed all that, CHEMO is a tough rough road but a road I will cross.
I did find a 30# used Fedora 62" Viking long bow that I can shoot its working well as I am about 1/4 of the way through my treatment.
I will post up a pic when I take a few.
Still have my stash money for when I come out the back of this treatment, then new bow time still going to be a Shrew.
-
Wishing you the best Doug.
-
A prayer for healing Doug.
-
Love that positive attitude, Doug. Look forward to seeing your Shrew when acquired.
-
Expecting a set of Carbon CobraCurve limbs in a couple of weeks and new Ultimate w/Carbon CobraCurve limbs next month....Anticipation is running high..

-
Acquired a Stalker Wolverine SL 45# from a longtime member here via the classifieds. Ought to be here in a few days. Yippee.
-
It is obvious that archery is a good business to be in this year!
I too got a new bow this year :goldtooth:
60" Mountain Monarch 60#@32" .. Black and white ebony limbs, black and white and brown mallee burl in the riser with giraffe bone overlays.
May be another bow or two in the horizon :biglaugh:

I was avoiding buying anything new......but I was looking at the Bowyers Bench... saw some of Kenny M's posts...went to his website...
to make a long story short, I have an unfinished longbow blank in the works from Kenny with beautiful grained walnut veneers and a katalox riser. I'll post pics when it gets here

-
Jason that bow is awesome !! Really like both sets of limbs.
D
-
Thanks Doug, I have been shooting the 66" limbs mostly, getting ready to head to Colorado in September. As with all of Steve's bows they shoot great, but I am really liking this take down model. I'm very impressed at how quick it is and how hard it hits the targets. I shot a 3-d course Saturday with the 45# limbs, and was very impressed with those as well, can't wait to try those out on a whitetail.
Jason
-
Its getting real close now i just recieved a picture update.
-
Wowza awesome bows gents.

Some fine beauties...
Hoping mine will next week.

Whatcha getting?

I went a little different route. I ordered a blank from KennyM - so I've got a bit of work to do. Kenny was GREAT to work with and I'm really pleased with the blank - I'll get a pic posted after work.
I had some nerve damage in my bow hand, so I'm working on shaping few grips from tulip poplar blocks before I shape the bow blank, to make sure I have one that really works well....getting impatient to finish and short the bow.
-
Ordered my first trad bow . Samick sage 40lb draw.
The limbs came in but still waiting on the riser.
I’ve been a compound shooter for about 40 years.

Very nice bow Papajack, who's quiver do you have there? looks pretty nice too!
-
It's also a HH. I'm old school I guess so I just shoot what has always worked for me. I just placed an order for a Nate Steen back quiver, so at my age I shouldn't ever have to buy another one! I have several HH bows, but I saw another like this that Craig built, so I just had to have one! Like I said previously, I haven't shot it much yet, but I can tell I'm going to love it.

It's a good looking stick. Congratulations!

Tim Finley of Kota Bows built me a beautiful Prairie Swift, spot on weight. What a good ol regular guy who loves to bow hunt. The grip is perfect, no stack and smooooth through out the cycle.
-
That's a really nice bow Robert. I was the high bidder on one like that on St. Jude. It came today, but I wasn't home.
I also got one of his take down longbows off the classifieds, and it's one of my favorites.

That’s awesome, Don! Would love to see a pic of that bear. I shot the Apollo during the Hope pass around, and it was a truly sweet bow in every respect. I also got to meet John at the Rendezvous a couple of days ago, and he is such a cool guy.

I just received a Crowned Eagle by Harvey Archery last week. I have yet to figure out why I bought it other than it looked good and I wanted it. Lol
-
Called Eric from Hitman Archery Tuesday June 22 ordered a Black Hunter Stealth and received it today June 25. Fast or what.
Specs are 62" I believe and 35# @ 28" I draw 29" and it is very nice to shoot. I shot it a little and I'm very glad I bought it.
-
Patiently waiting on my Black Widow PCHX 56” 40#@27” in Black and White Ebony I ordered back in April, should be here sometime around September. Just received my Black Widow PCHX 54” 51#@27” in tulip wood. Love the short bows.
-
A couple of photos of my new Crowned Eagle. The arrows I've been tuning on are shooting good so maybe this weekend I can hit up the National Forest in search of hogs..

Bryan, that is a beautiful, and very unique-looking bow! If it shoots half as good as it looks the critters are in trouble.
-
String Bean...Very attractive bow
-
Guys are aquiring new bows like Happy meals at McDonalds.
I got a new Bear T.D with a Bubinga and phenolic riser and # 3 limbs. Its got a high gloss finish. Its awesome looking and they do shoot sweet as honey.I added some #1 and # 2 limbs.Talk about versatility.
I also stumbled onto a really nice Toelke Chinook made for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundations fundraiser. Its got the XXX high grade woods.Schafer checkered the grip and it also has Schafers polished sheep horn tips. Its got that hierloom collector quality look.
Last but not least I found a Frederick longbow.Been looking for one for years really. You never see em for sale.Even though he built hundreds of bows when he was a full time bowyer and had a long lead time.I have run wanted adds for one for years and struck out.My 1st custom bow was one of his fine Weapons my wife bought me for Wedding gift.He got some training under J.D Berry. He was very talented and crafted a super fine longbow!SaaaaWeeeet!

Found a Bear A riser (50th Anniversary model) that I talked about back in January. Have several sets of limbs, but am still looking for a set of No.3, 45# limbs. Along the way, also managed to pick up another Jet Leopard longbow. Stopped at Big Jim's for a few supplies while at Comptons, and he had just what I was looking for on the rack. Couldn't pass it up. Life is good. :goldtooth:

Nothing on the "shopping list", but keep an eye out for certain bows. Don't need more than a couple, but that's never stopped me when "the one" pops up somewhere!
-
I just received this one last Thursday and it’s my 2nd RK Korte .Here it is with some pictures beside my Black and white Ebony I got last year.

My new tall tines recurve riser being worked on
-
The two Bob Leegles have just landed...hope to be able to get home early as I am more than ready to tear into those boxes.
-
Was able to assemble both Ultimates this evening. The top depicted Ultimate w/Carbon Cobra Curve limbs is 60”s…47@28. The bottom depicted Ultimate w/Carbon Cobra Curve limbs is 62”s…43@28.
The 60”r is to be setup for hunting this season. I did manage to run a couple dozen GT Ultra Light 340’s w/100 gn insert and 200gn point. Initial impression has me quite pleased. Draw was quite comfortable…Grouping from the first three arrows…. visibly quicker than one of mys hi performance design that is 52@28 shooting the same arrow…. most notably: the quietest recurve that I have ever encountered.

Haven’t acquired any for 2021. Been so satisfied with my chinook and it’s performance. But y’all have gotten some lookers.

I have a new Bivouac Union Jack coming in a week or so.
And placed an order for a new Yellowstone Hunter the other day, should be ready in a few months.
Pretty excited about both! I need something to look forward to these days.

I'm looking for a new bow now. I just can't bring myself to hunt with my Dave Johnson longbow.
-
The Crowned Eagle bows are sweet shooters!
I have a bow on its way I've wanted for a long time-a LH 64" 52# 1966 Bear Kodiak.
-
I bought this bow from Keith Kocher in 2015. At the time I already had a Tall Tines recurve and a Blacktail VL that I shot really well.
I ended up selling them all in search of that perfect bow. I have found and owned some really nice ones.
But about a month ago, I had the chance to buy this Tall Tines back. I did and am thoroughly enjoying shooting this 54# beauty again.
62”, 54# at 28”

The tall tines showed up the other day havent had a chance to get good pictures yet. The bow was bought by my wife for me as a wedding a gift. The antler burrs and antler tip over lays are from my dad and grandpa's rattling antlers. Im ordering a custom string the will by our girls favorite colors.

Well heck I bought a Yellowstone Longbow earlier this year and it posted on here Pg 6 I love it so much I have Rich building me another one. I heard how smooth one piece bows shoot but I didn't believe it but now I do now it not to say my take down are not smooth but one piece takes it to the next level.
-
I swore my wife I don t need a bow after the previous but Kirk @ BigFoot bows was teasing me so bad with that hybrid bow design of his, I couldn’t t resist
Traditional bow archery is a bad disease :goldtooth:

You continue to surprise me.

I guess this meets the requirements. I bought this Tall Tines a couple of months ago. Fairness in truth, I owned a it few years ago and regretted selling it so when the owner asked if I wanted it back, I was thrilled to say yes.
Very nice shooting 54# @28”, 62”. I honestly didn’t think I would ever shoot that weight again. But physical therapy is a wonderful thing I’ve found.
