When you first get up, put some flavor in your cup.
I like coffee black and I like it strong
I might live without it but not for long
put cream in my coffee and sugar for her
You're going to need a fork to stir

Strong black coffee is the only way for me to properly start the day. I knew I had my brew just right when my retired Marine boss highly complimented the way I make it.
-
No that's for my Chil :biglaugh:i
-
Strong and black is a proper cup of coffee, imo.
Just received my backwoods grind beans and looking forward to a fresh ground cup in the am. That's a good looking coffee mug Ron.
-
My next order will be beans when I find my coffee grinder
I have an antique grinder just like the one Kevin Costner used in Dance's with Wolves
-
I didn't think you were that old Ron.
-
How about a review of the grind...?
-
Thank you for the reminder Ron! Been wanting to try this !!
-
Husband- "This coffee tastes like dirt!"
Wife- "It was only ground this morning"

Black is the only way to drink coffee. Cream and sugar turns it into Cocoa!

Here's my "Dances with Wolves" coffee grinder. This thing is old but it still grinds good.

:bigsmyl: When I was really young, I heard my mom say that a good cup of coffee would dissolve the bottom half of a horseshoe as it floated on top. I wondered if there existed a cup big enough to fit a horseshoe.

Black and strong.Got to have that coffee to make it through the day!
-
I need it to have caffeine in it, preferably strong enough that I might question if it was made from Columbian coca leaves :bigsmyl:. I'll do it black if its strong enough or Im in the field, I hate watery black coffee. Otherwise among civilization I like at least cream in it to mellow the acidity. I also generally drink it over ice. If Im drinking hot coffee most other folks around me have already frozen to death
-
For years I always told folks when they would ask if I needed cream/sugar; "Nope, my Daddy always told me 'Drink it black or drink it somewhere else'."
About age 55 I was having breakfast with my Father who was around 80 and the waitress asked if I needed cream or sugar. I said, "Nope, my Daddy here always always told me to drink it black or drink it somewhere else." My Dad looked at me and said, "I never even heard that before."
Told my wife the story and she stated, "See, I told you, you always make stuff up."
Anyways, I drink coffee BLACK . . . regardless of what my Dad and Wife say . . .

Looking at the current situation I think it's late in the game for people to wake up..but nice plug for the coffee company!
-
Cream and sugar are for people who don't really like the taste of coffee.
-
I only want coffee in my coffee. The stuff we drank in the Navy was stiff enough to stand a spoon in.

Just add a tiny pinch of salt to your cup and it'll knock the acidity right out. Smooooth black now.
-
JDP; you're correct. A good cup of coffee can't hurt.

My coffee grinder
Ron, so when you walked into the General Store in the 1800’s to buy your coffee grinder, how much did it cost? Or did you just trade some gold or firs?? 😉
-
It cost me 1 beaver pelt for the grinder and 3# of coffee beans,
-
I'm with you on the black. Jawge
-
Ron, to quote another line from DWW—-‘good trade’. 😉👍
-
Good trade

Great to see a post from you. It appears as though you've been lurking and sipping on laced coffee. :wavey:

Killie, where in the heck have you been? Your thoughtful and beautiful posts have been missed. :wavey:

Yep black coffee, best laxative ever made. :biglaugh:
-
If you want a jolt try some Espresso. I like a regular cup of Java but nothing wrong with a Chocolate Latte Espressos.
-
Nah sorry but I want cream in my coffee and if theres no cream then I'm just not coming by :biglaugh:
-
That's OK Ted, it's your coffee you can drink it however you want. :coffee:
:goldtooth:

Sorry I’m late to the coffee party! Been busy roasting up that coffee goodness Ron speaks of. Thanks for the shout, Ron!

I can't function when I wake without it. Snaps me out of my sleep coma...

I drink mine black. I still remember in the mid 60s I had a sales job that required me to go to mom and pop grocery stores and also chains. One was the A&P and they still had a couple of the old-time stores with wooden floors in the area. The coffee grinder was upfront at the checkouts and you'd smell that fresh ground coffee the second you'd step into the store. I can still smell it.
-
LBC;
Day doesn't start without it.
