I finally cobbled together a bow rack so I could display my bows. Not much of a collection compared to what I've seen on this site, but it's a start!

From top to bottom:
58" Damon/Howatt Mamba, 45# @ 28"
60" Pittsley Predator, 51# @ 28"
60" Shakespeare Wonderbow Yukon, 45# @ 28". Got my first bow killed deer with this one.
62" Super Flite Olympian, 25# @ 28"
62" Groves Spitfire Mag II, 58# @ 28". Also have the original 70# limbs, but I doubt I'll be able
to shoot those ever again. Tried last fall. I think that's what buggered up my elbow...
66" Assenheimer, 58# @ 31".
My wife hasn't made comment about the two open slots. Now let's see. I don't have any long bows...
Nice rack, and some pretty bows, and yeah, those 2 open spots would look better with a couple of longbows.
Love the rack....did you have plans
Nothing meager about that set. Well done.
Looks like a pretty good collection to me!
Randy
Very nice!! It is always good to leave room to grow. I did that when I cobbeled mine bow rack together and now I am double stacking bows. :banghead:
Mark,
I have the outline of one 6" "arm". I just traced it eight times on 4' pieces of 1x6. I used 1x4's for the cross pieces. I put them at the ends because it was easier for me to notch the 1x6 with my limited tools. I have the "arm" in an Autocad dwg and dxf format if you want it. I could also get it in pdf.
Tim,
My "arms" are wide enough for me to have a recurve and a long bow on each one, so that means I have to buy two more recurves and eight long bows to fully utilize my creation!
Update: Actually, I would have to cut the arms a bit deeper to more easily fit the long bows. I do have another wall available for another rack, though!
Chuck, that is awesome. Could you e-mail me your AutoCAD drawing? I would like to do something a little nicer for my next rack.

Thanks bud!!
Tim
Tim and Tradgang,
You can download the dwg, dxf or pdf from here:
http://home.gci.net/~hakari/transfer/
Note: I put hooks on the end of my arms to keep the bows from falling off if the ground starts shaking during occasional earthquakes. Tim, did you feel the quakes in your area?
Can you hang bows on this type of rack if they are still strung?
Chuck, People in the area said they felt it but I did not. I was asleep and it takes more than that to wake me up...Just ask my wife!!
Thanks for the drawings. The bow rack I have right now is nothing more than 2 pcs of 2x2 with 3/8 dowel rod pressed into some holes.
Nice collection! What takes longer, practicing or deciding which one to shoot :p
Migra Bill,
I have rearranged my bows so that I can hang one strung bow from the bottom arm, and rest another on the top. You could also stretch out the template so there is more room so you could put strung bows on all of them.
Bowless,
Like picking out birthday or anniversary cards for my wife....they are all nice, so I usually take the first one that I look at! Right now, though, I'm shooting the 25# Olympian as I recover from my bum elbow. Actually kind of fun shooting it, plus I can work on my form without breaking a sweat!
I ain't got enuf stuff!
Nice rack and set of bows! ;)
nice set you have fine bows that any boaholic would love to own oh yea the rack is nice too  :notworthy: :archer:
