How do you hold/hang your 1 piece bow for spraying clear coat.
I drill a shallow 1/8" hole in the site window

I still hang mine from a limb tip with fishing line. But I make my loop in the center of a long piece of line so that it is hanging from two locations like a V. Helps reduce swinging and spinning.
I’ve thought about doing it similar to how you do it. But putting the screw on the end of a rod to make it a solid mount and eliminate all swinging.

What do you do about the finish under the fishing line at the nock?
I was thinking something the same.
I'm wanting to spray Gloss and need to see all sides as I spray.
1/4" wood dowel slipped in steel tubing and a T bolt to hold it still.
This would be clamped to a table (left side of picture) or something

I spray my finish in two steps. So I flip the bow for second step.

I was thinking a floor stand with a short piece 90 degrees to the bow. Then have bow horizontal for less interference.

What is a sits window?
I've done it like Brad, hanging from the limb tips.

These little pinch clamps work great. No spinning. Flip tips for second coat. Dab a little finish in the nocks to cover the tiny bare spots and sand with 600 grit.

pretty cool Flem, I never saw one of those clamps before

They work really well. They call them spring miter clamps, used on picture frames. You can buy a plier/tool for them, but I don't have any problem squeezing them open by hand. They have sharp tips out of the package, but it is easy to dull them down so the don't penetrate the wood. Did I mention no spinning?
Spinning spraying targets drive me CRAZY!

you are crazy, me to
I found them online

This was my homemade version from a bike spoke, before I found the fancy ones ;)
You can easily make one in seconds to try out and see if it works for you.

Same as Flem. I made this one out of a broken tea pliers from the scrap bin
-
Flem where did you get that nice clamp from ?
-
I googled pinch clamp, the Images

Don't remember, maybe the big "A"? Search for; spring mitre clamps. Or better yet, if you have a woodworking shop nearby check there.
Those ones Mark linked too look good, but are a bit pricey. I, being chronically cheap, paid about $1. each
-
Yeah that was the first one I came to.
The A zon may have them

Make one, coat hanger and a gum band, how ya think caveman did it?:)
-
Real cavemen didn't need no dohicky, they got their Cavewoman to hold it.
