The Kentucky deer season kicks off this Saturday morning. Spur and Deer30 hunters will start arriving Thursday evening
with hopes of grounding some prime velvet. Anticipation is running high this season as many significant projects
have been completed this year. May the deer find the enhancement far more than appealing.
May each member of the Trad Gang family enjoy the best of the great outdoors.

The big deer appear to be in a transition mode. Possibly the bachelor groups are about to start splitting up. Didn't have but one 3 1/2 yr old out of 35 cameras.
Many deer are already hard horned.

Best of luck,

Thank you...
Am hoping many others are successful in the early season.

They will show up more often as the weather starts to turn to cooler nights. I wish you good luck and broadside bucks.

Best of luck this year, Friend!
Work and family commitments have completely taken over my time. Our woods (owned by mom and uncle) were select cut a month ago, so I’ve just now been able to scout around and determine blind locations and put out cameras. Planning on doing some setup on Monday, and hoping time frees up to hunt around beginning of October.

Thank you...Thank you...
The season is starting off nicely. Had a 2 1/2 yr old 8pt at 25 yards and a beautiful 4 1/2 yr 11pt at 30 yards.

That’s a good start!

Scott:
The biggest buck here has gone to hard antler as of last week and does not seem to be hanging with the others. There are still several wearing velvet one of which looked to have been rubbing when I saw him last evening.
Its about to begin.....

Got a new bionic shooting eye on Tuesday. Hope to be back after them the latter part of next week.

Friend, have you dropped the string at all so far. Our season opened today, and I saw a nice buck. Unfortunately, I had no shot opportunity. Well, let's keep after them.
-
Haven't dropped the string once on anything with horns since 2014. Yet, afterbI I drop the string several times each season. Typically, start pursuing does after the rut. Am hoping to drop the string on a particular blonde racoon their season opens Oct. 1st.
My thrill is found in strategizing, the extensive prep work, close encounters and hunting hard from mid October thru the end of season. If that coveted opportunity at a special buck actually materializes, I will be loosing an arrow. Those special opportunities have continued to elude me and keep me in the field. A place I wish to be.
