Experimenting with heavy, strong aluminum hunting arrows by inserting 3-4" 400 into 2018 shaft. Using HIT inserts, the 17 grain insert with 260gr up front is 700 grains 20% FOC. 75 grain insert 750 grain 23.3% FOC. Anyone ever do this to strengthen the aluminum front end?

At 17 yds, both arrows right on, nice stable quiet arrow.

Total of 5 arrows set up with the 3" of Beman MFX 400 into a 2018. Seems very strong, maybe I will sacrifice one arrow to test on concrete. Anyone ever try this setup?
