contact John Sullins at Sipsey River Traditional Archery. He's a sponser on here and he has pictures of several Turkey Creek bows that he'll make you one heck of a deal on.

Anybody know if Doug is still making bows?

I'm not sure if Doug is still making bows or not.

I do know that my bow was about 3 months later than promised (he originally told me 6-8 weeks - turned out to be almost 5 months!) I couldn't even get Doug to return my phone calls and emails until I contacted a moderator here about it.

I was told that there are other Tradgangers who have been waiting on bows since last August.

Don't get me wrong - I'm very happy with my Turkey Creek, but I was disappointed with the service from Doug. I honestly hope he gets himself back on track and keeps on building bows.

That's what I was afraid of. I was told he stiffed all his suppliers and can't get materials anymore.

I must chime in here and agree with what has been said.  My experience with Doug was the worst of all my dealings with Bowyers in the States.

I won't go into all the details here, but suffice to say I would not recommend him to anybody.

The sad and regretable thing about the whole experience is that he makes a really awesome little bow.  The best value for money of any bow I have ever ordered.

The fact that the handle was not made as I asked and I could not hit anything with it because the grip was so wrong.  I very regrettably had to sell the bow.  It is one bow I really miss and sure wish he had nailed my grip - it would have been a real keeper.

I have no enmity against Doug at all.  I think he tried his best but maybe had taken on too much and could not keep everybody happy at once.  I think just one of life's not so memorable experiences.

Doug has had a rough time, he is still making bows but had to move into a new house and hasnt had his shop up and running because he had to get some electrical work done. He is biting at the bit to get back at it. I know he is working a full time job now also and they are working him alot.

Stuff like this should be PM to PM, (IMO)....pretty easy to ruin a fella's business by posting stuff online for everyone to see.

If there are legitimate reasons why he is not following thru, then Doug should come on here and explain, or answer his emails and calls.
Not doing so is just bad bizz.

BUT; trashing online??? that is not called for and WILL trash a business. From what I see and hear, he makes a great bow.
I think more people should read and re-read their post BEFORE hitting the "add reply"icon.

I know I do, and it has saved me a lot of grief.

I saw nothing but honest posts. If the bowyer cared about his reputation as much as you do, he would act accordingly.

But read above, I said that him not repyling to calls and emails was bad bizz.
