Hello! I'm a compound shooter who is taking a very serious dip, or perhaps leap, into the waters of trad bows. I've been seriously shooting for about a month and I am as hooked as ever. I've been lurking and researching bows on this forum for a while now and figured it was time to join and share a little about myself. I'm 32, from Minnesota and a public land hunter. I'm sure I'll be good for lots of dumb newbie questions and epic fails while offering very little else. But thanks for having me aboard!

Welcome new guy! We love newbie questions. It gives us a chance to share our knowledge, and heck, every now and then we know what we're talking about. Actually, you will gain a lot of really useful information here. The only useful thing I can add is to remind you that trad hunting is a CLOSE encounter.

There is a traditional shoot in Medford/Owatonna The weekend of July 11th.  Also Rochester has there traditional shoot around the 22nd of August.  Great places to meet like minded people.

Be sure to check out Rapids Archery Club.  It is located in Bunker Hills Regional Park in Andover.

The club has a very dedicated contingent of traditional archers.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind too. I did reach out to the club down near Owatonna this morning after hearing about them and they do allow non-members to shoot. Fortunately or not, their next shoot is the same weekend as my "home" club. Might just have to make a weekend of it!
