I've been shooting a Bob Lee HUNTER and now a DARK ARCHER and have no complaints whats so ever with these recurves. I was thinking of buying a long bow,so Sat while at the range, I tried a long bow. I tried a bow that was for sale for $400.00. I don't remember the name but it had a 45# draw. I used the shop's arrows, 2117's and I couldn't believe what I felt. I shot only 3 arrows and I thought the bow was going to jump or vibrate out of my hand. What causes this vibration?
Thanks... :archer:
bad brace height...... too light arrows.... not tillered for how you shot it.... held it wrong.... poor string choice.... could be lots of reasons.
3-arrows tells you nothing about a bow
Bob is correct about all of that. Longbows are shot differently than recurves as well. Generally speaking they are not quite as smooth as recurves due to design although there are exceptions. Hard to tell for sure. Just like recurves, try a bunch until you find the one for you. I used to work in a trad shop and I shot every bow I could lay hands on for this reason. Can't put a price on free experience.
Could be just a poorly designed bow.
