Here is the current info the Compton board asked me to share. I am sure most expected . Please do not make this a political topic.
The 2020 Compton Traditional
Bowhunters Rendezvous is going Virtual
The decision to hold a Virtual Rendezvous this year instead of our normal Rendezvous was not an easy one. Our commitment to the health and safety of our members, volunteers, vendors, their families, and communities is our number one priority. Hopefully one day very soon all of this will be behind us and we will resume our normal lives. In the Meantime, we decided to have a little fun and host a Virtual Rendezvous.
If you have already sent your booth registration, we have intentionally held on to all payments and will be returning them over the next couple weeks.
We are still in the planning stages of taking our rendezvous virtual so keep an eye on Facebook, Instagram, and your email for more details, how to get involved and updates about the Rendezvous. If you are not yet on our email list, please take this time to go to our website www.ComptonTraditionalBowhunters.com and register your email. We have a button that says “Register for the Virtual Rendezvous” on our home page to make registering quick and easy.
We are planning several events that include a youth shoot, skillet toss for the ladies, virtual film festival, arrow building contest an online auction and a virtual vendor tent.
This is where you come in. We are in the process of setting up a virtual vendor tent on our website where we can post a link to your website. Our hope is to drive traffic to the virtual vendor tent from our social media outlets and email updates to keep your businesses moving forward. Please go to www.ComptonTraditionalBowhunters.com and check out the virtual vendor tent, check the link we have to your website to make sure it’s current, or if we don’t yet have it yet, please send the link to Kenney Davenport at [email protected] We encourage you to offer a show special during the Month of June, hopefully you will gain a few new customers since this event will reach people all across the country.
We have several very nice donations for our online auction, but we are looking for additional items to round out the event. We will be using an online auction site to run the auction, collect the money etc. If you are willing to ship your donation to the auction winner, we will need good pictures and a description, please send that to [email protected]. Or, if you would rather send the item to us ahead of time, please let us know and send the item to Craig Schoneberg - 2917 North Webb Road - Grand Island, NE 68802 - 308-390-7225 – email: [email protected]
.Compton’s ability to continue to fund worthy projects will depend largely on the generosity of supporters like you. Compton is a 501 c3 organization making your generous gift a charitable donation, a receipt can be provided for your records.
2020 is proving to be a very tough year for everyone in the Compton family. Our hope is the Virtual Rendezvous will help keep us all connected and participating in the sport we love so much. This process is teaching us many things, many of which may change the future of our Rendezvous and Big Game Classic in a positive way.
Thank you & stay safe, we look forward to seeing you the summer of 2021
Sincerely,
The Compton Board.

No chance they are putting all plans into the virtual Rendezvous now. They have canceled hotels for the board and canceled the tent.
