Folks,
The new decision date for this event will be the 1st Of July 2020 after speaking with Pappy yesterday. He had been in contact with the IBO this week to discuss the situation.
So, as we know this is a fluid situation at this point. Tennessee still has some distancing guide lines in effect right now but those will be relaxing here by May if nothing changes. That's 3 months so a lot can happen as we know.
Keep your chin up and we hope this event can be held on schedule. Nock on wood.

IBO Trad Worlds 2019.

Purty sure states a GVT are going to shift to what is called Vertical Containment of the Virus.
Basically they will ramp testing and start putting folks back to work for most and high risk folks will still have shelter or maintain a lower signature with general population.
With this transition occuring i think we will see clubs getting green lights to hold events that conform with veryical containment policy.
Stay positive bowmen.

More IBO Trad World Fun. Hope we get this one in.

We get this one done Im confident.
Lowes has 200 folks buying lumber in the place every time I am there. So, I'm sure a few hunnerd folks can fling a little lumber outside without issue.
If we are cutting hair, going back work here today, have production outfits with hunnerds of folks working here in town under roof we sure as heck can have a shoot outdoors.
At this point I purty sure its not about making big money but just getting an event completed with the extra precautions in place as kind of the road map how to get it done.
Pretty sure this can be done. They will have self test kits out there by then. Can have temporal scanners if you think you need that at sign up and at course start.
How much work do want to put in to have this shoot? It will only get done by the going the extra mile by all involved. I think its worth the stretch. I will work for free to get it completed.
If its only about making a $ for some stay home and do your thing from there. If its about getting 3D Archery back on its feet to show it can be done, done well and as safe or safer than going to Kroger to buy food, lets get this one completed!

Sat is the Day. I hope its on. Not to big a deal to Set out two Twin Oaks 30 target courses and the Hunters Challange course. Be a World Class setup. I am betting this will be largest IBO Trad World ever! If your coming, get there early for a camp spot. Hotels will be purty empty I am guessing as I go past them all the time on I-24 Exit 4 and 11.
They will have a shower bldg at TO open same as always and prolly the cooling tent. Kitchen has AC now. Been a cool spring here and we have barely had an 85 degree day thus far.
I will give the answer on Sat afternoon what the decision and the details will forthcoming. :shaka:

After the meeting at Twin Oaks this morning the club has indeed gone ahead and said they will host the the IBO Traditional Worlds for 2020. Pappy did speak with IBO members this morning as well and both are moving forward toward conducting the shoot as scheduled.
If the championship round is not your thing they are going to make a very very special Hunters Challenge course for 2020! So, something for everybody. For more info you can check the Twin Oaks own website and their FaceBook Page.
I have some info due in about a a place to stay how will be issuing a code for a discount for lodging for this event on Exit 24 I beleive. More to follow and code soon.

Excellent news...thank you for the update Smag...

Hope you can make it Scott.

Plenty camping at Twin Oaks, no RV hook ups. They will have 10lb bags of ice for sale. Ice water on courses, water and a shower house on site.
It gets warm here in July if you coming from northern locations. The Hunters Challenge will be right up the draw by the Kitchen. So, very close walk. Plan for it to be in high 80s to low 90s. All the courses will be under the tree cover.
Dont miss a chance to enjoy one of the premier 3D archery venues in the USA.

Looks like due to shotguns starts the ranges will get shifted around some to make walking to your stake for the morning and noon IBO round starts. Trying to make it the most efficient way possible to get to your stakes for starts.
Practice range is getting overhauled. Be finished today. Be plenty practice butts for shooters in July. Everything looks good for a big fun event at Twin Oaks!

A most special event to anxiously await this summer.

"All I know for sure so far is Big JIM,and Art Vincent and 3 RIVERS but reaching out to others.Hope to have more but not sure right now. By the way anyone making reservations at the Hampton in Plesant View at exit 24 be sure to tell them your are coming to the TwinOaks IBO Traditional world and you will get a pretty good discount.Getting lots of call , looks like a lot of people just want to get out and shoot." Hey,
Stop by where "Grants Camp" is during the Classic. I will be putting Hedge's Camp in there for the IBO Trad World 2020. Have a bunch of guys in there form the area. Bring a chair will have a fire going at night and food on the grill. Thinks the A range will be right next to it.
Shawn~
-
Hope to visit you Smag...
-
Course lanes are cut and done. Not sure when foam will be put out? IBO will be in to stake it all out right before event.
Expecting a Big Crowd now that ETAR has fallen off the schedule. If your a vendor and wanting to sell your wares at Trad Worlds call or go to the TWIN OAKS FB or Twin Oaks Bow Hunters page and call the contact number for information. Not many events to occur and this may be one of the few opportunities you have in 2020.
>>---------->
We be in Grants Camp up top Scott. Have it layed out week before. Think were going to grind some more deer shoulders and mix up some High Mt spiced burger for the grill. Have plenty deer and pig brats. Maybe we kill a hog and smoke it or pit it right there too?
Look for me I'll be on the High Ground.

I’m planning on attending, went to the first leg of IBO Nationals, no problem there. Every one please be careful and watch your step and we will do fine.

Target list has been picked and target lanes are completed. Going to be some nice courses. weather has been very nice this spring and summer. Cooler than usual to say the least!
Hope ya all come and enjoy one of the Classic Venues of Archery in the world Twin Oaks Tennessee.

May not be able to shoot however, I am hoping to attend two days.

Hang out keep fire going in camp. Hang under bow shed. Drink water.
Be fun.

Bisch

I am finally being gifted an opportunity to meet Bisch.
A long time in coming...
-
I would like a piece of that opportunity to meet "Bish" and "Friend" also. We may come down for the day on Friday or Saturday.
Have to see how we feel. I do have the new "range cart" but have not cleared it with any one so I guess we will be walking.... very slowly and likely not shoot anything....
-
I would like to meet Friend and Busch also. Hope to see you there.
-
We just got to Clarksville. Will be at the range all day tomorrow thru the end on Sunday. Hope I get a chance to meet all you guys!!!!
Bisch
-
I will arrive tomorrow afternoon and will shoot the hunter challenge.
-
Bisch I want my Hope back :) See you soon dude! Be there Friday. Can't wait!
-
You guys tell Pappy and the Twin Oaks guys hey for me.
Have fun...but stay safe and healthy. :archer2:

Enjoyed a delightful day at Twin Oaks. Was most fortunate to meet our friend ‘Bisch’ in person for the first time.
He is such a fine individual. I hope to, again, see him tomorrow.
The Twin Oaks event was just as wonderful as ever yet, met with greater anticipation due the isolations of this year.
Was able to meet up with several older friends and make some new well favored acquaintances.
Looking forward to tomorrow.
-
I got to meet wapiti792, hitman, and Friend! Nice meeting you guys!!!!!
Bisch
-
It’s a wrap now! We are in the way back to Texas. Wapiti792 fared well in his class(I think he got third place). Best I could muster was a 4th place in the selfbow class.
Anyone who missed this shoot missed a GREAT time!!!!
Bisch
-
Congrats Wapati792 and Bisch...
-
Any pics?
-
Bisch so great to meet you. That was my first visit to Twin Oaks. Amazing members who along with the IBO folks worked their tail off to make that event so cool. Will post some pics later. 44 people in the Trad Hunter class and I squeaked out a podium by 2 points. Great atmosphere and great people!
-
Congrats again Mike!!!!
I was wrong on mine. I ended up 5th. There was only 7 points between me and 2nd! That bonehead miss I had on Sunday really hurt me!!! :banghead:
Bisch
-
Good time.
Bisch you shot a hecka Sunday score!
They say “ya win it on a Fri or Sat and lose it on Sunday”
Love it when guys shoot the whizz out of it on Sunday.
Couple had a chance to shoot a take control on Sunday but were wobbley coming off of first stake.
Purty easy course. Think highest selfbow scores ever? Big targets i reckon?
Got to introduced to young men to Selfbow Archery. Never shot a bow before and he shot 16th at Trad Worlds! There were some big names behind him!!!
Passing the Brothers of the Hedge on is what its all about.
Shawn~
-
Thanks Shawn!!!! It was definitely a good round for me. That one miss did me in though! I was still very pleased to shoot well.
Bisch
-
Yep one arra will cost ya sometimes, rather most times. I pooched one as well! I shot a bow I broke at Howard Hill last week on Friday and grabbed one with a little more umph on Sunday and blew first shot way over target. That cost me two places in the chute. I shot well. Think these scores were highest ever. You never see an easier IBO worlds ever. Smallest target was a pheasant but only at 12yds.
Was a rough shoot for me as my wife had emergency surgery. She had been in Hospital for 3 days before that suffering waiting on a COVID test. Then, a young Surgeon said " she gettin surgery NOW". Thank goodness for some sanity these days.
Shot with Kenny both days, we had a Hoot!!
Shawn~

Missed you guys. I even had my trad gang hat on for Saturday.

Time to get ready for BH Championships!
