Title: A new bow is born
Post by: V-Archer on April 16, 2008, 10:02:00 AM
Hi All,

Here is my latests R/D bow that I finished last week. This bow has a smooth pull of 45# @28" with a length of 64" ntn.
This one is special because I used antler pieces for the first time (thanks to Sixby) and managed to get the finger contours into the grip section of the riser.
The limbs are made of Ziricote veneers (bought on e-bay) under clear glass. The tips are made out of a combination of black micarta and antler. The core is made of carbonised flooring bamboo.
The riser is made of Bubinga and Gabon Ebony split by a mosaic stripe. The grip overlay is made of black glass and antler and has finger contours which, IMHO, turned out really great.
I finished the bow with 6 coats of Tru Oil.

Let us know how good it shoots. It is a looker! Hope is not like a beautiful woman, but like a semi-beautiful woman who shares all your needs. Ken

Guys, thanks for the compliments. If you guys are interested in the build-along then I can up with it.

BTW. According to my shooting buddy it shoots 490 gr arrows like darts. He is in the pic pulling 30". I did not chrono the arrows though.
