Hi guys. I'm getting my brother a starter bow for his birthday.
From how he shoots my bow, looks like he'll end up with a longer draw than me.
I'm figuring he'll be shootin 54@30.5 from the bow I'm lookin at. Recurve with dacron off the shelf.
So what do ya think---2020 or 2117?
Thanks
PS- with 125gr BH or 150 if need be.
I shoot 2018 and 2020's from my 67-69lb. bows at 31".Great flying heavy shafts. You might try 2016-18's first but try what you have- they may work perfect!
He's hurtin right now---- puttin old lady thru college and paying all the bills with his taxidermy shop.
I'm gettin him some arras too, so I need to get as close as I can to correct. He won't have the money to buy test arrows.
Thanks :wavey:
He should be able to shoot either one. They only spine out on the charts 3 pounds different. They should fly almost identical if they are cut the same length and have the same weight up front. At least that is what I have found with mine, I shoot both.
I should add that 2117 arrows are easier to find in most archery shops!!
