I am trying to plan a trip to NW Montana this fall and am looking for a guide. I have done some research on the internet and have found one that sounds interesting to me. He sounds like a very serious hunter. No partying, no game playing, just hunting. I can't find much on the internet about him though, but his site shows him and his clients with some really nice trophy whitetails. His site is http://www.bigforkoutdoors.com . Looks like Neil Jacobson (owner of Bear's Paw Bows) is one of the hunters pictured. I would contact him for a reference (bpbows.com).
I don't know him so can't answer your question but
I noticed on his rates page it states;
"The next booking opportunity will be between December 1 of 2007 and March 15 or 2008, which is the deadline to apply."
Before researching too much you may want to find out if it's too late to book a hunt for this fall with him. Save you some time so ya can find other guide somewhere.
Anyhow, have a blast when you do get there! Looks so fun.

You might want to give Montana FWP a call. As far as I can tell, non res deer licenses are by special drawing and the deadline has passed for 2008. Maybe there is something available for you over the counter but it doesn't look like it.
If it is too late then apply next year, buy the bonus points and then hope for 2010. It took me 3 tries for my first draw in 2005 and I just was drawn again for 2008 after unsuccessful tries in 06 and 07. Good luck. I hope there is something available this year for you. Let us know.

I'm not picky, something 140 inches and up, an even number of points, good burring, tall with 20 inch main beams . A kicker point on the right side would go nice with the mount location I have picked out. Actually , any ol' 6x6 will do. :thumbsup:

Because no one has piped in on this yet, I will mention the outfitter pictured above is Guy Shanks. Although I haven't seen or talked to Guy for many years, he is a retired Montana Game Warden who is a great person and an excellent hunter. I'll guarantee the "guy" knows his stuff. bw
