Title: Beman MFX Classic
Post by: Broken Arrows on January 19, 2020, 11:24:21 AM
I am looking for a carbon shaft to replace the thinning herd of MFX Beman's I have. I really like these shafts but as everyone knows they are not around any more. So please feel free to suggest and give your thoughts on a replacement.

Thanks,
Dave

I also miss the MFX Classic shaft.  I wish they would bring them back.  I recently fletched up some Easton FMJ's which have similar qualities, the down side being that they are expensive.  But all of them seem to be rising in price, don't they.  Which MFX shaft (spine) do you use and what length did you cut them to and did you load up the front end with brass inserts?

Closest is supposed to be the axis traditional shafts/arrows, but I really don't know if they are all that close.  I, too, wish they would bring them back.

I switched to the Easton Aftermaths. No complaints! Tough 6mm shafts. I put a 2” footer of 2016 aluminums on mine. Haven’t ever mushroomed one. I like em and they are priced right.

Easton Axis trads.  Basically the same shaft.  Easton bought out Beman or some such.

Creekwood,
340 shafts, I cut them to 29" with 100 grain brass inserts footed with 2" aluminum. I did try the FMJ but they just aren't the same. It seems that every time I find a great product it is discontinued?

Thanks guys.

I've got some Beaman ICS Centershot shafts I acquired rather reasonably and I like the real well.

I used to shoot Beman MFX Classics, and now have switched to Easton FMJ 500’s. They were a great shaft.

I went from the Beman to the Easton Axis about 5 years ago.  The axis is an awesome shaft.  I have a collection of other carbon shafts from well-known manufacturers.  The Eastons are the only ones made in the USA and the only carbon shafts I have found to be consistent in spine when tested.
