I built an osage selfbow at the trad expo in St. Clairesville, OH this friday and saturday. It turned out awesome! I still have to do some final sanding and apply a finish....then i will post some pics. It is 63#@28 and 68" long. I twisted my own string and today i cut a brow tine off of a shed I had and worked it into an arrow shelf. It is grinded down thin until the base of the tine in which i radiused. This will allow me to wrap the thin part of the tine under my deerhide handle wrap leaving the thick part above to rest the arrow on. What is cool is the deerhide is from the first buck I harvested with a bow and the piece of shed antler was from the hunting grounds where I harvested my first deer and first buck with a bow! I can't wait for it to be finished and pics will be posted for sure. The tiller turned out spot on and I was shooting some 55-60 spine arrows straight and hard. I owe a very big thank you to Mr. Gary Davis of Rattlestick bows and Mr. Dave Reed!! They taught me everything and they are great men.

I think I saw you there working on it Friday evening. Glad to hear it turned out for ya. I found Gary to be a very nice fellow, but I failed to meet Mr. Reed. Was he the shorter dark haired fellow?
Be sure to post pics when you can!
Very nice! Congratulations! Jawge
Yes Mr. Reed was the shorter guy with the beard. He helped me alot when Gary was busy talking to other people.
Looking forward to seeing some pictures!
