Hey Guys,
I need some help. I have a Bob Lee Stickbow, 54lb@28, 64 inch bow. I am shooting the Beeman 400 Classic at 29.5 inches long. I am getting a arrow kick to the left before it hits the target. Sometimes the arrows fly great, but most of the time they are kicking. What is the problem. I am using , 145gr. and 175 gr. field tips. Same results.
I would say that with the 175gr point it should be about right, but from what your're saying it's a little stiff spined. Have you tried bareshafting yet? If not, shoot one without feathers and see how it does, if it's nock right, then it's too weak so try a lighter point. If it's nock left, too stiff, go to a heavier point.
If it's flying perfect bareshaft, but still kicking with feathers, then I'd say it's either a problem with feather clearance or your release.

I was getting the opposite with the 500 Bemans I picked up. Kicking right bare shafting even with a 100 Gr. point and 100 gr. brass insert. I just notices Beman updated thier spine charts a couple weeks aago and now recommends a 400 shaft for my bow rather that the 500 on the previous chart.
For whatever it's worth, I agree with atlatizoom
My opinion....way too stiff bud....I'm a lefty and I shoot Beman ICS 400's at 29", 57@28.5,past center shot, fast recurve....
Mine bare shaft the best with 300gr's up front...arrows fly like darts with FP's and BH's
I would think with your set up....you'll have to add at least another 100grs. to the front of your arrows.....
i'm a lefty.i agree with curt.you can do that or switch to 500's.
Thanks guys, I will try using heavier points, I have some 200 gr. field points. I will try them tomorrow.
I don't know curt, when I was playing with a high FOC arra I tried some 31" axis 400's with a 100gr. brass insert and 125gr. point and they bareshafted perfect shooting 51#'s at my 28.5" draw. So, at 54#'s with the 175gr. he should be close, mabye go up to 200-225gr. point instead of 175gr.
Curt's dead on in my opinion..Lefty here also and I've got a Bob Lee. 500's should shoot like a needle...200 GR. probably still not enough to lighten the spine. I'm shooting the 500's with 250gr. up front...Good Luck and keep us posted...Don
