Finally was able to get out and do some stumpin' and scouting for turkeys and look for last years deer sign. I like to collect birch bark that I find on the ground for those summertime rendezvous campfires as well. Here's a bunch.

Found a typical VT buck rub just a short ways from one of my treestand set ups from last year.

The moose are really moving in now. 4 years ago, never saw any sign of moose. Now there's tracks, turds, and these aplenty.

Heck the moose are in Burlington City weekly it seems. lol
Gorgeous day, thanks for sharing your's!
Dave, your right. I work in South Burlington and saw both those moose. The one on TV and the one in the Free Press were different moose. I beleive its a mother and last years calf that probably got seperated and are looking for each other. I bet they tried to swim the Winooski River and the calf got swept further downstream. The river's really cranking right now. These pictures were taken in Westford, now known as "Mooooooooose Country"
Greg, how is that Green Mtn longbow shooting for you? I also got out for a nhour today and hiked and shot a bit. Sure felt good to be in the woods.
Steve, it's funny. I never had any intrest in longbows till after Jim stopped making them. I finally got one and I can't beleive what fun it is to shoot. I never thought I'd hang up the Schafer but my plan for this year is to hunt w/ the GM so that's what I'm going to shoot. That might change if I can't figure out a heavy wooden shaft that flies as good as these carbons I'm shooting. I can't bring myself to hunt deer w/ carbons yet!
Really nice bow there.
I like the longbow. How does it shoot? and where can I get info on it? Thanks!!
Sadly they are nolonger made ductape. I keep my eyes open for one as nice as VTer has too.
What a shame!! Good luck!!
I shot a lot of stumps. Some were still frozen in the middle, towards the bottom, so I had to be careful. Pickin' a spot, so to speak.

Remember Greg wood is made of carbon!!! Serously, I have shot a bunch of stuff with woodies and love them. Carbons are just less finicky.
Yes sir , that bow reminds me of my Liberty Longbow...good pics...marco , thanks for sharing
Greg,
thanks for the sharing the pics, and thanks for the invite. i wish i could have made it. did you go alone?
boy that GM profile looks nice!!
Oh sure Steve, use your fancy doctor science on me. It's my thick VT skull that's preventing me from hunting w/ carbons.
Joe, I went alone on Saturday, Sunday when I called you, Schafer went w/ me.
