Got a 2008 Morrison Cheyenne today. Medium grip B Bacote and Osage riser with D 48@29.5 foam core limbs. I like it a lot so far.
AD Trads with 100 grain inserts and 200 grain points, 30" at 18 yards.

A grouping like that will make you a believer quick! Nice bow! I am looking at another set of these limbs for mine already.
I always wonder why Bob doesn't bring that lower limb up to fill in the rest of that flat area on the riser? Small thing, just seems like it looks like it should fill in that area...or maybe that area should not be black, instead the wood could extend into that area....? Don't get me wrong, I love my Cheyenne! But there is always room for improvement.
PRETTY BOW THERE, V-STER. NICE SHOOTING TOO!
David, I said 58 at 29.5"!! No good to me at all now :(
:D :D
Very pretty, mate!
I think I may be selling some bows to get a heavier set for hunting with Rob, but honestly, these would kill pretty much anything that walks over here with these arrows.
Can I please ask, why the Cheyenne & not the Shawnee with recurve limbs? Was it a performance decision, aesthetics, or was it purely a personal thing?
That there just might get me up there to shoot some........
David
I like the Cheyenne grip a little better and with the possibility of longbow limbs for them in the near future......
Nice Bow and great shooting!!! I can't wait to get my new Shawnee. I ordered it on Wednesday. Bob said it would be 6-8 months. How do you like your R&M target?? I think they are a great target for the money. They are made by a guy who shoots at our local archery shop. Pretty cool to see them in Vermont. I thought they were just a local thing.
Bill
Great target for the $30. Bought it at Dick's last week to celebrate being able to shoot again.
Very nice outfit David. Congrats!
Sweet. I gotta get me a Morrison some day.
now David, you know with a title like that, I'd get sucked right into this thread, good thing for me it's a model I already have lol. nice group!
I think this is the first one I've posted pics of that no one called dibs on by now. :biglaugh:
Nice, only trouble....not an Osage Selfbow!
You know how the Southern Redneck is!!!!!
Nice!
Jwilliam, I bought one of those targets a week ago here in Michigan.
Is that bocote in the riser? Looks like bubinga, but the pic isn't real close so I may not be seeing it right. Nice bow for sure, I'd sure like to get my hands on one or a Shawnee...Mike
You guys keep this up, and I am going to have to order a set of foam limbs for my Morrison. :goldtooth:
V13,
"I like the Cheyenne grip a little better and with the possibility of longbow limbs for them in the near future......"
I don't get your comment about the longbow limbs. My Shawnee has longbow limbs and I see recurve limbs for it on the web site. Can I be correct in assuming that you can also get recurve and longbow limbs for a Cheyenne?
Speaking of grips. Yours looks much thicker than my Shawnee. Mine is very nice and thin. I would guess Bob would build a thin grip on a Cheyenne if ordered???
Bowmania
Real nice lookin' bow, Dave ... too bad them limb tips is all gnarled up and curved. :D
Bob doesn't make lb limbs for the Cheyenne yet.
The ibuprofen kicked in so I shot some more and got some better pics.

This is sure enough a nice looking Cheyenne David, and some very good shooting from 18 yards out.
Morrison is on my "have to own" list, you never see anything but the upmost praise for his bows.
Dibbs! How is the speed and sound. More importantly sound. I hear the foam cores are quieter.
Bowmania, the cheyenne is a deflex riser where the shawnee is more straight. Some say a deflex riser is more smooth drawing, cause of the limb pad angles, and more forgiving. I think David's is a medium grip where a low would be more thin.
Speed is excellent and as far as sound it might be a little quieter than the boo limbs, but with tuning the Cheyennes get quiet pretty easily anyways.
I'm going to have to do a road trip. Another sweetheart bow Dave . Good Luck with her.I guess your feeling better?
Come on up Tom. I waited almost two weeks before I started shooting again and actually got permission from the doctor to shoot this week. So now I can post pics again without home repercussions. There is no evidence of the other shootings. :biglaugh:
DAVID , NICE!!!! LOVE IT... marco
Those are beautiful woods in there, Dave. I like the accent stripes, they tone down the transition between the light and the dark. It's a good shooter and a sweet weight, I think you are good to go hunting on those limbs. Sorry, Bob. :D
Never noticed that flat until snag ratcheted his yap. :knothead:
Bowmania asked about thinner grips. Mine has a narrowed grip, which is one reason I snagged it from the "In Stock" list. Oh, sorry, snag. I meant "snarfed". :p
I believe that bow will be good therapy for you, Dave, and you will find yourself hanging onto it with all the tenacity I exercise on mine.
Killdeer
Man, your on a roll Dave! You have been getting some real beauties here lately. Looks like another sweet shooter in your stable!
JL
Great to see your back shooting and what a awesome bow!
Thanks guys. Will be some more additions this week. Have to make up for lost time. lol
That's a beautiful bow!
that is one SHARP bow dave! nice shooting also!
That bow my friend is hmmmm... Fine as frogs hair !!
Great looking bow and group of arrows.
Up for the guys who were gone last week. ;)
Good looking Morrison Dave. I need to get a set of the foam carbons for my Cheyenne.
Nice 'un there bro! Have you shot the Shawnee LB foam carbon? Only reason I'm keeping my last Cheyenne is hoping Bob will send me some LB limbs for it sometime in the not too distant future. May have to change my email address of 9 years....
Haven't shot the Shawnee ones yet JC. I'm hoping for Cheyenne LB limbs in the near future though.
Dave,
Nice Cheyenne!!
Maybe someone mentioned this already....are you sure that's bocote and osage? sure looks like bubinga and osage to me.
What is it you can't kill with that 49# beauty?
I think it will be fine for anything you will find in this hemisphere.
real nice bow there dave
Lot of black in the wood to be bubinga.
Went out and shot again for a while. First four arrows at 15 all in the bull, all touching each other. Really like this one.
I mentioned before that I thought it might be bubinga. Here is a pic of bubinga from Bob's website...Mike
(http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee104/mooseman76/bubinga1.jpg)
It could very well be, but I do have a solid Bubinga risered bow here also and the wood on this one is much darker in comparison.
Dave
The arrows you are using. Are they AD Heavies or Lites?
Benny
dave, definately bubinga.... only other wood that it might be is santos rosewood or maybe indonesian rosewood..... but i'd put money on it being bubinga. bubinga can vary quite a bit in color and can vary tons in figure.
Checkout the Honduras Rosewood riser on Bob's site. It looks very similar as well.
Whatever wood it is it is beautiful!
Dave, I will say my Shawnee with Dakota foam carbon limbs is much faster than my Cheyenne. Feels very natural in the hand as well. Very quite and as you said with a little work it is easy to make Bob's bows whisper quiet. It did take me a day or so to get adjusted with it being faster than the Cheyenne.
I am going to have to be on the look out for these Cheyenne LB limbs now! Can not wait to see what they can do!
Nice bow! ;)
im starting to actually like the look of black limbs. thats is one awesome bow
Very nice!!! I'm in love with mine. Did I hear there may be longbow limbs in the near future from Bob?? Oh no!!
I'm liking that bow too. Very nice. Add another one to the list.
Nice bow! With groups like that, your ready to chase those goundhogs.Have fun shooting it.
