Title: Kennys TD Longbow alignment of Limbs
Post by: oldfartfarmer on November 07, 2019, 12:12:08 PM
OK
so Ive got my Limbs Bolted onto the riser, with NO pins

Im Thunkin
to place the riser in a vice,, Back facing UP Plumb and Square
then running a string from center of limb tip to center of limb tip
(I have NOT trimmed the Limbs)
and letting the string sag so I can adjust the limbs to the center of each Limb base
Then tighten up my bolts and drill my alignment pins

Then start cutting and sanding out the finish limb shape

will this work?

thanks
John

Your limbs right now are are cleaned on the sides and sides a parallel with each other? run your string from tip to tip right over the center of bolts. tip to tip right thru the center of the riser.

Yep, what Mike said. Also I have a 6' straightedge I can put against the side of limbs before profiling at or near tips and see if it's touching the riser block. Just another way. You can adjust the tip center line if you need to. Move the centerline equal amounts on both ends.
