I am in the middle of my annual white tail trip. I'm not seeing many deer but last night I did have a couple of small deer come by at 10 yards and let them walk. (I may regret that later)
It is raining tonight, hope that shakes things up. We shall see.
I'll report back after I get home. Hope to have highlight photos.

Well my trip is over and the deer won this round.
As stated at the beginning of this story I pasted on a doe the first day. I said I might regret that come the end of the week and I do. The rest of the hunt the deer were either to far or TO CLOSE. One evening a deer walked start to my tree from 100 yards out, walked around the tree, then walked straight away! That really made my day. A big part of the fun of hunting is those close encounters. You know: 'he only had to take one more step', and, 'all she had to do was turn broadside', and 'if only the wind would not have shifted'.
......SO......
9 months, 3 weeks and one sleepless night until Colorado's opening day!

Just curious, where is whitetail country in CO? Here in WY we have them along the N Platte river and up around the Black Hills west to Sheridan. The whitetail are scattered and the numbers are growing, displacing mule deer in some areas.
