I'm thinking about ordering a Black Widow PTF. Any opinions? What woods look best?https://blackwidowbows.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=62
Been shooting straight limbed longbows for long time, for the light weight and easy carry.
I feel like I want something with a tall brace height for something different. I had two PCH bows but eventually disliked the short sight window and just don't care for that horned BW look. They were probably fine. It's been several years and now I forget how they were to shoot. I know they killed deer just fine.

tedd, personally i favor the 58" Toelke chinook.

My 60” ptf with asbell grip is my favorite bow ever. Osage and bocote. Beautiful

Have an older 60" TFII that is my favorite recurve. Mine has the low wrist grip. Wood choices are almost unlimited, but I kind of prefer the old gray bark.

I bought my first widow earlier this year...its a 60 inch 50lb off made from Paul Ferro and zebra wood limbs..I kick myself for not doing it sooner. Its such a smooth shooting bow not mention its good looking...you won't be sorry

For a one piece recurve....I think you will be very happy.

I am partial to the ironwood myself. I had one,and the original owner wanted it back, so I sold it back to him. He promptly put back in the classifieds. Go figure. At any rate, I think they are a great looking and smooth shooting bow.

I like Purple Heart in my risers, good mass weight and pretty.

Ptf is on my list as my next Widow. Just can't decide on the woods. Had one that I sold that was a sweetheart. I think the previous post By Etter is that bow. Hey Sean post a pic of that sweetheart.... They are a fantastic bow you won't be disappointed...

That would require me to learn how to resize pics lol. My limbs are osage with cocobolo handle and riser and it is stunningly beautiful. It is skinned on the limbs with rattlesnake but I almost wish those werent there because the osage veneers are so striking.
I have a PA as well in greybark that is a real beautiful bow too. My two widows are tuned the same and close enough in draw weight that I can interchange arrows and I never even look at bows anymore. I dont think I can shoot any other bow as well as a widow.
