Hey Gang,
I just received my new to me 54" Dave Windauer Wolverine Longbow today, that I bought from a fellow Tradganger on the classifieds. The specs are 68lbs @ 27". The risor is diamond wood and the limbs have zebra wood veneers. It also has kudu tips and risor overlays. The bow shoots real nice and smooth! I'm really happy with it! Hope you enjoy seeing the pics. Thanks for your help Matt! ;)

Is the Wolverine a model longbow that Dave no longer makes? I have a Schaefer longbow (1 piece) and I thought it was called a Silvertip.
No Dave still makes them on request, but they are rare. He doesn't make many tho.
nice. enjoy it
Wow, very nice.
That's Big nice!
Happy New Bowday, Nige :D
It's a looker, for sure!
How does she shoot???? enjoy! :)
That's a fine lookin long bow... :archer:
schafer longbows are a very well kept secret imo. the wolverine is no exception.
like it's namesake.. a mean efficient little killer
Saaawweeet
I love her lines, colors, the compass, the kudu tips. I love everything but that weight. 54"- now that's a blind/brush bow for sure! You have a very nice and very unique bow there, enjoy!
Dang thats a sweet looking bow...
Sweet bow! Enjoy
prefect for sneaking the thick riverbeds for a bushbuck then we'r back in SA
Very nice!!
What is the major difference in the SilverTip Longbow and the Wolverine Longbow??Is it just length mainly??
I have a 2pc SilverTip Longbow and also have a 3pc on order and was just wondering what the differences were between the 2 types.
Varmint,
From what I understand and have been told, Screaming Eagle Bows own the design of the Wolverine. They gave the design to Dave Windauer and Bob Morrison to make for them. Bob doesn't make the bows any more, and Dave makes very few of them and only on request. They're very rare bows.
I'm not sure how similar the Windauer Wolverines are to the Silvertip longbows. I'll be able to tell you after this weekend, as I'm going to stay with my cousin Andy (tradtusker). Andy's father has a 2 piece Silvertip longbow. I'll share next week on how similar I found them. ;) The unique thing about my Windauer Wolverine, is that it has serial number #1! ;)
Nigel
Serial #1!?!?!
Very,very nice!
I would say it's more a collectors item now than a hunting bow.............but how can you have one and not use it...
I'll be looking for the post on what you find and what you think of them compared to each other.
I know I love my 2pc SilverTip........hope I like the 3pc as much.
Leopard, what a great looking bow! Congratulations, and to have it No 1#.....doesnt get much better than that! :D
I see you are also from Zim, nice to see there a couple of Zimbos here representing the Gang :bigsmyl: I bet you are also holding your breath re: elections. Fingers crossed we are going to get a result soon....and peacfully!
Cheers, and good hunting!
Very nice looking bow!!
Hey Matabele!
It's great to see another zimbo on here! ;)
Yer brew, I've been holding my breath re: the elections! It's been a hard, but not surprising, thing to watch! I really hope that there is change there, the country really needs it! Good to hear from you tho! ;) :D
Nigel
Very cool bow!!!
Nice bow, Nige! I hope you can get some kudu blood on it!
Thanks Ben! Yeah, I hope I get her some kudu blood too! ;) Like Andy mentioned above, she's perfect for stalking bushbuck in dry river beds! :D Can't wait to get her back there!
Very nice, could think of a few places to use her...
