Just want to introduce myself! I'm new to this forum.
I live in Southern, WI. Over 30 years ago I started bowhunting with a recurve, them progressed to compound, then back to recurve, then back to compound again! And now I have a new Longbow in the mail, a Zona longbow from Bill Griffen in Mesa, AZ.
I feel the need to get back to the basics. I always had more fun shooting traditional than with compound and sights. I have never professed to be a very good traditional shot, so I guess I'll just have to get really close! I have a couple of turkey tags for this spring and hope to get my bird this year with my longbow. I have been shooting my Great Northern LB for several weeks for conditioning and practicing my form. Looking forward to swapping tall tales and hope to learn some new tips and tricks.
Welcome. The shooter's forum helps alot! (Im here about a year and a half now)

HI there-Hap
Welcome aboard!!!! I'm another old one, 72 in August. Still shooting a longbow. Did the same as you, longbow to recurve, to compound, back to recurve, then longbow again and having fun shooting once again.
Getting in close to your prey is the big adrenaline rush of traditional hunting. :bigsmyl: Welcome to Trad Gang :wavey: and good luck with your up coming hunts.
Welcome to the gang! ;)
At 54, your not really an "old" timer, but being new , your sure welcome here! Glad you came to your senses, stick with the trad, enjoy every arrows flight! Biff
It`s not about how far away you can hit them, it`s about how close you can get `em. :D
Sounds like you have the right theory.
Welcome.
Welcome to the gang, a great bunch to hang with.
:saywhat:
Kevin,
Welcome. I am fairly new to Tradgang myself. I put the bow down years ago because I was living and working in a very big city. I moved to NC a few years ago and recently unpacked my old recurves and reintroduced myself to something I had been away from for far too long. I am another new old guy -- new to Tradgang, but rediscovering my old bows and my old ways with those bows.
You will have a great time with this website and with the generosity of the members who share their knowledge and experience so freely.
Welcome to the campfire.
Joe
Welcome to the gang Kevin. Nice talking with you at the Deer Classic last weekend. Hope to see you at some WTA shoots this summer.
Welcome to the :saywhat: New to tradgang, bowhunter from past. This is a great site and great bunch of tradgangers.
Killdeer your not old.
Thanks Guys!
I'm quite a few years behind some of you in age....but they refer to me as one of the old guys at the archery club. Several other guys in our archery club are looking to getting back into traditional archery as well.
Orion, I will be mailing you the shoot schedule for our shoots this summer. I know that you will enjoy our new course.
Welcome Kevin!
Welcome, Kevin. Monroe, eh? Brings back lots of memories. I lived a few years in Gratiot, 23 miles west of you. It's been a looooooooong time since I've been through that area. Glad to have you here on the 'Gang.
