Title: Do the color of Bear arrows mean anything?
Post by: bbassi on April 09, 2008, 12:54:00 PM
I'm looking for some old Bear arrows and wondered if the color of the shafts corresponded with certain spines or not. Anyone know?

I'm not positive but I don't think so...as I have yellow shafts with blue/white fletchings, and brown shafts with yellow/white fletchings and they are both 35/40 spine.

I'll leave this to the experts..

Hi Brent,
As far as i know the colors of bear arrows do not designate spine, certain type crested & labeled bear arrows were made certain years.I was hoping to someday maybe try to complete an article about Bear arrows !!! Not all bear arrows had BEAR stamped on them.

On another note do you have your Bear killing setup tuned ready to go ?

       See you before long

working on it Tom. 56" Grizzly at 60#, Bear razor heads. Just working on some arrows now. I've got a WTB in the arrow classifieds, but no leads yet.

Brent, I have 4 yellow Bear arrows with black and yellow fletch and crested with blue, black and orange. I have no idea the spine, but you are welcome to them if you like. I can send them to you, if they don't work send them back.

Nope, the color was changed from year to year but does not have anything to do with spine...I do know this the best Bear arrows have clear finish with almost no edge grain showing...The painted were really not seconds but not as good as the firsts. So they painted the not so premo shafts to hide the edge grain....Fred shot white shafts so the camera could pick up the flight of the arrow a little easier...bowdoc
