Title: New shop addition..
Post by: Crittergetter on September 01, 2019, 03:45:17 PM
my old form was starting to warp and causing alignment issues and I figured after 4 plus years of tweaking I wasn’t gonna change anything so I had a new form cut out on a CNC. I’ve got the materials to duplicate a second form as well. This should solve the warping issue and having 2 forms will speed up the build process!
Going to do a pair for my recurve as well!

Form looks right on, nice job.
My form is basically the same except it just has reflex on the one end.  The next one I build will be the opposite curve form,  so belly up.   Most bowyers build them like that.  My question is this not to take away from this post,  but which type of form is better.

Probably neither is better. To me it is a look I like the wedge ramp next to the riser. And it may give a Twidge more preload.
Is that form solid Alum. ??

It’s really just personal preference.

Yes sir, once I test it out and confirm everything is exactly like my old form I’ll take it back in and have some material removed to lighten it some Along with the second form.
