For the last few years I've been buying leather from a guy at the Tenn. Classic. I have used this leather for projects for myself and for others as the occasion occurred. I'm not trying to sell these or trade them here on TG. I will probably set up a booth at the Tenn Classic. My reason for posting them here is to show off! :goldtooth:

Nice work! I’m just getting into leather working myself. It’s a good hobby.

Thanks guys. Leather work is like therapy for me. Most of what I do is hand stitching and I like to make things without anything metal like buckles, etc but I do use brass buckles and harness buttons for closures on occasions. All of these are my own patterns or my versions of commercial items. The larger bag is actually patterned after the old haversacks used during the Revolutionary and Civil Wars.

Great stuff Pat...

That's some nice work Pat! I enjoy leather work also. It's one of those activities that ties us to a big chunk of human history.

Those are great Pat. I’d love to try my hand at leather work. But I think the wife would kill me if I started another hobby

When I met my wife more than 42 years ago I was part owner of a leather shop in Savannah. She's used to it by now. Leather work is not hard to do but it can be difficult at times but very rewarding.

Very nice work, Pat. I too prefer to make them without metal. I'd rather use antler, bone, rawhide and such to hold things together.
I need to make a new possible bag and a quiver or two. I got the leather now, just haven't had the time yet, but I will soon as I have some vacation time coming. I was just going to make a back quiver, but have always been intrigued by those open side quivers like you made there. I might look into that as well.
