Been practicing on extending my range for elk season which is quickly approaching.
With all this dang heat everything gets covered in sweat as you can imagine!
Well I had a shipment of beaver tails come in the other day and they threw in an extra tail in a natural color. I thought it just might look good on my personal bow and with all the sweat I figured why not!!
I think it turned out pretty darn nice!

That looks great!
That natural beaver tail looks really really good.
Never seen a natural before, might even prefer it to the usual black.
Best

Nice
"it turned out pretty darn nice"
More that a tad bit of understatement. Beauty!
Looks good!

Looks excellent and works excellent.
Got a beaver tail on my Blacktail Sitka. Works great in hot, humid and rainy Florida
Wow I really like that. I've had em on longbows but sure am tempted to try one on my recurve
Real nice, I like that !
It looks really nice. Good job!

Big Jim did a beaver tail grip on my 59 Kodiak reintro. Great grip.

Thx guys!
I do them all the time for customers and I have done a couple of my personal bows in the past. This was the only bow I own that didn't have a Beavertail grip and I had no intentions of putting one on it. But I finally gave in and I'm glad I did!
WOW......that looks great on that bow!!!! :clapper:
Ver nice work!
Beaver tail is the best grip material imo.
Good looking grip. Not natural though, it is brown. Natural isn't natural as the natural tail is blackish. The tanned color is nearly white... so anything that isn't nearly white is dyed.
I'm putting this out there because there will be several people asking me if I have a natural color because they saw this thread...
Just sayin, BigJIm
Well I continue to learn from the best in the bizz!!! Lol
Thanks for the info bud, I was told it was natural and I didn't know better. But now I do! :biglaugh:
I actually need to modify my response a little bit. Nearly white is not correct, but it is more like a very light caramel.

"When they are golden brown and turn up in a U, Beaver tail taste best and is the best for you" 8>)
I'm not in the picture because I took it. The tail is a little greasy but the meat is scrum-did-dly-ump-tious

I never liked it but then again my mom knew one way to cook meat.
If it's burning it's cooking/if it's black it's done.
I used to skin beaver when she wasn't around so I could get rid of the carcass.
Her attitude was meat is meat and we gotta eat.
