Yesterday I could see the top of my four haybale target through the snow. Now an honest two feet has fallen since six am and it is not letting up any!
Where is spring?
Not here! It's been snowing for 2 solid days now :(
Nice!
Vance is probly frozen and buried.
Aaaaaaaahhhhhhh Didn't get to shoot here either today. Way too hot it was 101 and were looking at 103 the rest of the week. Wanna trade???
Didn't anyone tell you yet Mitch, spring is not comming to west this year! Snows all gone here, sun's shining turkeys gobblin and around 55 today. Snowin in England, go figure eh. This global warming craps got the worlds weather shure messed up. Sun probably shinning good round Tennesee Rob! I think Vance is out wolf hunting.

Redbuds are blooming, shadbush is about done. Soon the black locust will fill the air with sweet grapiness and the wisteria will hang purple from the trees. Great blue herons have been nesting for weeks and the titmice are breeding. The phoebes came back a couple of weeks ago. Killdeer are flying and making their plaintive calls in the cool spring winds. The rains are washing all the salt of winter from the earth and making everything green and fresh.
Hang on. Use both hands!
Killdeer
It finally arived here. I spent a good 3 hours Saturday wandering the woods with a buddy and a bow. Best time in the world to stump shoot.
Killdeer......What a beautiful picture. I see great potential for a SUPER NAP up on that bank.
Killing me!!!!!!!
Just took the girls out for a ride down some "dirt" roads. The lab was jumping from spot to spot and the brittany was burrowing under.
No stump shooting today. Just turned on the heater in the garage for some indoor archery.
Nice pic eventuough it hurt!
Pretty little brookies in that stream. Banks are full of Jack-in-the-pulpits and trillium. Anywhere you see a seep, it's safe to drink.
:)
My first sign of spring came a couple weeks ago. Not as purtty as Killy's idea of spring, but a swarm of circling turkey buzzards does it for me!
About 70 degrees here today!
I took my 1st spring trek Saturday looking for morels and sheds. All I found were gobblers!
Highs in the 70's with rain later this week will bring out the morels for Sunday dinner... hopefully :campfire:
Gees, I still have a foot and a half of snow in my yard, temp was 46 mid afternoon and that was like a heat wave for us.......arrrrgh.
David
Sorry guys! It's 68 F. down here on the Gulf Coast! A bit hotter than the average, for this time of the year.
Already planting crops!

Dale, you tell ol' Ed that I hope he got good use from that tired old joke, and that I sing his praises, and thank him for helping me live a dream.
I actually do make a habit of nibbling flowers of most types. :o Careful with that nightshade!!

My wife made me Mow The Lawn last Sat. What a bummer as it was low 70's and a great day to shoot my bows or go for a Harley Ride.Gene
Heck I have been cutting my grass for a month.
Phil
Yea, we here is Alabama may be in Spring, but I've already been bitten by two mosquitoes.
Great news!

Mitch

80's and 90's here (http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l189/BigDave_61/P1010054a1.jpg) . Spring time in Texas
Thanks for the thought.
Snowed all day. This is getting crazy.
Pretty rattler. Hope you didn't scare it any more than it was in the pic.
Delivered the mail in a T-shirt today, the morning clouds broke and the sun came out. A cool breeze blew the hair back from my face and the birdies are all singing like mad. Tulip poplar leaves are starting to pop. Little green dots all over the woods.
Killdeer :goldtooth:
Mitch, Here in UT it goes from winter to summer in the matter of days. Spring, there is no spring. Just think in a few days it will be a muddy mess up there. Will call you when I get back from Cali. See ya.
Hi Guys,
I'm relatively new here and to computers but I have posted a couple of times.
I live in a small community on the coast of James Bay in northwestern Quebec. Even though I'm a northern bush guy I'm really looking forward to spring a little more than usual this year. It's been a long winter and we are at the moment in the midst of what I hope is one of the last snow storms of the winter.
There is still four feet of snow and the bay and the river are still solidly covered in ice.
The people here are starting to get ready for the traditional spring goose hunt ( they are Cree ) but the only other signs of spring are the holes and slush on our roads, the caribou that have headed north and the packs of dogs that are chasing females.
It's nice to be able to hear what others are up to.
Steadman,
Have fun in cal.
When is the Turkey hunt?
Ours starts in May, on the fifth. I need to get ahold of Nate when I get back. You are still welcome to come along. But I will hopefully be flingin at them (turkeys) this weekend. See Ya.
