Want to see your C-clamp racks for ideas... Tired of fishing clamps in a tangled mess out of a bucket... The rack I want to design has to be movable and slide under my workbench as I have run out of wall space... My Gosh... My shop is getting smaller and smaller... Might need to get rid of some chit to give myself some more room...

Sorry Shredd can't help you, mine are in a box :banghead:

Me too.... But I'm not upset about it. It was planned.
I have them separated in stack able Tupperware containers. 2", 3", and 4". If I need them I reach down on the bench shelf and put the container on workbench. Easy peasy

This is what I use up about 7' to 8' high (out of the way) with a pipe between

How about a rack in the ceiling above the work bench?
Or a corner ceiling rack.
Just don't bang your head.

I made a glue up table with a curtain rod C clamp rack, the handiest thing I have in my shop.

Pretty Slick there Eric... Roy I even have very little room overhead and I am a little wary about loose clamps that could fall on me if bumped... I think I have it figured out just looking for alternative ideas from you genius's...

Time to build a new shop, bout 25 x 25:)
-
Well here she is... No more bitching and wrassilin' them out of the bucket...

That's a great design! It looks like my Granpa's old horseshoeing box. Shoes went over the top like your clamps. Hammers, rasps and nails went in the side and it had roll-arounds on the bottom as well. Just high enough to reach stuff when you had a hoof in your lap.
I hope you didn't patent that design... I'm gonna swipe it!

Yes... I do have a patent on it... Send me 10 bucks or have your attorney contact my attorney...

My lawyers are with the firm... Dewey, Chetham and Howe. Please send all correspondance to Hewey, Louie or Dewey.

I keep my clamps on a row of 20d common nails in the side of my work bench but every time I need one the rest seem to fall on the floor. I've been considering a different system but...

Keep it simple and don’t over think it. I’ve used a bathroom shower grab bar. It works well. I have also used a length of 3/4” conduit supported by brackets on the ends.

I need to make something... a rack on wheels, to hold about 20 pipe and bar clamps, a couple dozen c clamps, clamping pads, etc. I want it mobile so I can wheel it from bench to bench. Pretty much everything in my shop is on wheels, even my main work bench :dunno:
I saw one down at the Rockler woodworking store, but it was a bit flimsy and they wanted like 180 bucks for it.
I'll get a round-to-it one of these days.

I need some of those as well!

I used to have one of those round tuits. Now I can't seem to get a round tuit. :dunno:

Not very often you get to tell a guy he's got a nice rack!
Nice one Roy. Almost makes me want to organize mine, but then I would be tempted to use them ;)
The Car Talk guy's used Dewey, Chetham and Howe. I miss Car talk.

I don't have a pic of my set up, but the clamps are hanging on the peg board just above eye level. Anything I use on a constant basis I like to have them at a level where I can see them and within easy reach.
