I ordered some plans for a T/D recurve from Bingham’s. The plans are for a
1.75” wide limb. I measured a couple of my bear recurves and they are 1.5”. Is it ok to make a 1.5” wide limb for a T/D? What are you guys opinions on this this?
Thanks
Dannon

You can make it any width you desire, but keep in mind that wider limbs are more stable and less prone to twisting. Also the stack thickness will have to be adjusted accordingly to obtain the desired draw weight.

Mine glue up at 1.75 and I finish to a 1.65 width. The 1.5 will work but as mentioned they are not as easy to get tracking straight. And would not do it without stable core.

Thanks for the replies. I’ll think I’ll go ahead and build my form 1.75”
