Does fletch tape work with plastic vanes?
I just built my first set of carbon arrows and the fletch tape worked great with the feathers. I use an elevated rest and thought I would fletch a couple of arrows with plastic vanes and see how they work. Thanks!

yep , use it for everything

I had trouble when using fletch tape and a cap wrap on Axis carbons. They are hard for me to fletch anyway, because they're so skinny, but glue works better for me w/ vanes on those arrows.

I must say that goat tuff fleatching glue
is amazing,strong,and drys fast.

I ended up using fletch tape and it seemed like it worked really good, but today when I was out shooting I had one vane come loose. I stuck it back down and shot a few more times. Maybe it was a fluke.

Never heard of anyone using it on vanes; wouldn't use anything else for feathers, though. As suggested above, Goat Tuff is hard to beat on vanes.

A fellow at my archery club today said not to use it for vanes. He said that there was a "release agent" on the vanes, and went on to say that some vanes even had an agent applied to them that accellerated the drying of super glue.
I don't take the word of one person as fact, though, I need widespread rumors to make that kind of determination. :smileystooges:

I have never heard of Goat Tuff. Do tell.

goat tuff is just high dollar superglue. I use the cheapo super glue gel from wally world on vanes and have no problems.never used the tape for vanes.Thought it was for feathers only.
