Stopped by my local sawmill to show him the risers i made from the cherrywood he gave me and ended up leaving with these pieces for free.

Nice guy. Cant tell, what did he give you?

From left to right. White oak 14'x12"x1.5", 2x cherry 6.6'x9"x1.5"(thats about as wide as i can get these two edges are soft), camphor 14'x12"x1.5", ambrosia maple 4"x7"x1", curly maple 4"x7"x1". He said I could come back and get all the scrap wood I wanted for making pens and we would trade pens for more wood.

How did your cherry risers hold up? I used cherry for my primary wood in a riser once...did not end well lol. Its a pretty soft wood. However the right piece can look sharp under glass in the limbs.
I think I may have posted a pick of my cherry bow fiasco some time ago??? you may be able to look that up in my profile???
Good score non the less :goldtooth:

Sorry I haven't finished the limbs yet. Just got the glass in from Kenny yesterday so should have them done by this weekend. I'll post pics when their done and let ya know how it holds up. Fingers crossed. At least the limbs will look good under the Bearpaw clear glass (that is if I don't mess them up).
