Slow hour at work, did my weekly check along the traditional archery web and came across this great video:

Thanks for sharing Big Jim! :clapper:
I saw that,he also has a new one out on how to install snake skins.
Wow what a process. I had no idea how much goes into putting a beavertail grip on.
I have seen it also and the snake skin one he does put out some great videos.
I do my grips differently, even beaver, but yes it's more involved than one would think. To be a bowyer you might as well be a leathersmith, bowyer, finish sprayer, and wood worker. I even sew my bow socks. So to do the whole thing well takes some experience and talent. I always say there's like 1000 ways to kill a bow. So you'll be perfect...in time.
I am seeing now how the tail may conform better with all the contact cement. Just hope Jim dont get any of that in his beard----- :scared: :bigsmyl:
Up for member.
Big Jim might be able to help you.
There are certainly other ways of doing it. I have tried many and as of now settled in on what I'm doing in the video.
I have managed to keep it out of my beard, but am wondering if my new found headaches are due to the toluene I'm inhaling...
Well, you can't live forever. :)

I bought a tail from Big jim about 5 years ago at compton's. Tried a few times to put it on my bow but gave up. I thought no way is this stiff tail going to conform to my grip. Well after watching the video a few times and taking notes I did it. It looks awesome, came out better than I thought. Thanks Big Jim youre the best.
