Title: Alignment pin
Post by: Wolftrail on March 09, 2019, 06:57:57 PM
I have a few alignment pins coming loose on the my take downs.   I'm using JB weld.  What glue are you using for the pin.

I use epoxy but, file a small groove in the pin to give  the epoxy something to hang on to.  Sometimes the wood in your wedge will take on moisture and swell gripping the pin very tightly. Periodic wax on the pins is a good practice too.

I am with Jess and Kenny.  :bigsmyl: I take a Q tip and apply petroleum jelly to the pin holes in the wedges. Lubes them and turns moisture away.

I use MT-13 Epoxy and apply a little string wax to the pin holes.

I also clean them with acetone to remove any oil on them.
