Hello gentlemen, Bows that you make that are to be donated...perhaps for the following purposes.
1.) Fundraiser auctions
2.) youth
3.) etc.
How have you handled the liability aspect.Do you have insurance, a written waiver?

Hey Garman, I am afraid I will be of no help at all but I figure every post should have at least one acknowledgement reply. :dunno:

I'm afraid there's nothing you can really do to stop someone from suing you if they get hurt from something you made. Things like waivers will only help you win the case or hopefully it let's the person realize that they are accepting a potentially dangerous gift and should assume all liability themselves, and not sue if they are injured.
I would do a simple waiver if I was to donate a bow to a fundraiser.

That is the biggest reason I don't like selling bows I make.
And I have not sold but maybe 3 or 4, only to guys I know.

Same here. I rarely sell a bow, and if I give one away, it's to a friend or family member. I had a shop owner years ago ask if I was interested in putting kid bows on his shelf. He said I would be required by his insurance company to hold a minimum of 1 million dollars of liability insurance. Needless to say, that didn't happen.

Thank you all for the information, everything stated pretty much mimicked my concerns. Gary
