Title: Dulling the Finish on a Browning Cobra II
Post by: 1Longbow on February 24, 2019, 11:44:38 AM
I picked up a Browning Cobra II and while I really like the bow,I'd like to dull the finish down to a matte type finish. Can I spray a matte finish over the gloss finish thats on the bow? Thank you for all responses

I use satin spray poly over the Tru-Oil finish I use on my selfbows. You may have to steel wool the old finish first but I don't know if that is necessary or not.

Just buffing with steel wool can take off much of the gloss without cutting into the finish.

I use ground pumice powder with olive oil or mineral oil and buff it out gives a smooth dull mat finish ! Leaves a smoother finish then steel wool
